Uniracers
Reviewed by Mike Prevette
True to its name, you can race as unicycles. However, there aren't any
people on the unicycles. The unicycles are actually alive! You can name
them and race through 45 unique tracks in search of the ancient Anti-Uni.
The 45 tracks are separated into nine different tours. You start with only
four, but five of them are hidden. You can also do tricks to increase
your overall speed of the unicycle.
Graphics: 8 out of 10
Uniracers has impressive graphics for a SNES game. Even though it is
a side-scrolling game, the tracks are still rich and colorful. All of the
unicycles are unique and look like they are actually real. The tracks
are different colors to show what is ahead. The backgrounds for each
level are very cool as well. The last level has a spinning background
which may be used against you.
Music and Sound: 7 out of 10
The sound effects are fun to listen to. They have everything from
screeching tires to uhh....well, everything. The music is also very
imaginative. Overall, I would say the music and sounds fit this
game perfectly.
Game Challenge: 9 out of 10
Let me just say that this game is very challenging, especially the
Anti-Uni. Your opponents are lightning fast, and sometimes even I
have trouble matching there speed. The tricks are relatively easy to
pull off, its just the racing that I find challenging.
Game Play-Fun: 10 out of 10
At first when my friend, Eric, told me about this game,I didn't think
it would actually be this great of a game. But don't take this advice
from me, you'll have to see how much of a blast Uniracers really is.
So, spend a few dollars and buy a used copy just to try it out. I really
liked to name the unicycles and create custom tricks.
Frustration
At times, Uniracers can be a very frustrating game. Especially when
trying to win all the gold medals. The Anti-Uni is also tough because
he can cast reverse controls and super slow motion. However, if you
keep practicing you should overcome the frustration for this game.
Replayability: 10 out of 10
This game has great replayability value! This is one of those games
that you can just keep playing and playing just for the fun of it. There
are so many things that you can do in this game. Eric and I like to have
tournaments in league mode.
Game Value: 10 out of 10
Uniracers is definitely worth the price. It is one of the better SNES
games out there, and I would definitely suggest that everyone should
at least try to play this awesome game.
Overall: 10 out of 10
Overall, Uniracers is all it hyped up to be. It is one of my favorite
racing games for any system and it probably will be for a while. If I
were you, then I would already have this game in my system playing it.
