Swatkats

Swatkats the radical squadron: Swatkats is a video game based
off a really cool cartoon. Your main characters are two of the
hippiest coolest cats around. The ever Powerful T-Bone and the
incredible agile Razor. If you like jets, motorcycles, upgrade able
weapons, gadgets, and wolverine type moves then this game is for you.
Graphics: 10 out of 10
The graphics of this game really rock from the beginning of the
game to the very end. Hudson Soft has done a very good job of capturing
the animation from the cartoon and putting them into video game format.
It is easy to distinguish who you are controlling T-bone and Razor have
their very own characteristics. Such as T-bones rolled up sleeves and
striped fur. The game looks very decent and you can tell your playing
super Nintendo because of all the mode 7 effects from when your playing
the jet scenes. They even have warning character profile screens before
you fight the boss. Looks very good I give this game to thumbs up in the
graphics department.
Music and Sound: 7 out of 10
I give this game an above average score when it comes to the music. It
is nothing to get up and dance to. but it fits the video game kind of a
jazz guitar sound in some scenes and some jazz here and there, and
some up tempo military type jet-fighting music in the jet flying stages.
In all fun its decent.
Game Challenge: 8 out of 10
I think this game has three to four difficulty settings. I played on easy
and it was kind of hard to beat, I guess I need to practice. It is very
challenging, this game is based on experience levels. Example if your
at level one you'll have very little strength and a very cheesy weapon
like a little red stunner, but if your at level 75 you'll have a lot of
strength and a powerful disc slicing weapon. The jet flying stages are
extremely challenging it took some patience and time to pass them, but
eventually with practice and patience I accomplished passing those levels.
It takes time to beat this game because there is experience you have to
build up. It may take some time but it is still fun.
Game Play-Fun: 10 out of 10
You can play this game two different ways. For T-bone his way of getting
through a level is on a ground level approach. So he gets a bazooka gun to
get through obstacles. For Razor he can gets through a level on a high-based
approach so he gets a jet pack. The swatkats also have a special street-fighter
move Ryu, Ken, and Mega Man X2 dragon uppercut type move. the one where you
press down + forward down + forward + y. T-bone does a diagonal super punch
and Razor does a flipping claw slash attack. It is fun to watch.
Frustration
None really accept for the jet-flying stages. I had to take a break one
time from the game for that reason alone, because it takes concentration.
Like I said practice and patience will pay off once you get that part down
of the game everything else should be smooth sailing.
Game Value: 7 out of 10
This game is a hard to find game I have only seen it twice in my lifetime
so far. I would not try to trade it or sell it because of that reason. I would
not pay more than $30 for this game. It is a good addition if your a collector
of the super hero type games. It is a keeper in my book.
Overall: 8 out of 10
