Super Punch Out
Reviewed by John
Super Punch Out is a game where you take a boxer (there's only one) and
you help him win against several opponents which are in the Minor Circuit,
Major Circuit, World Circuit, and if you can beat all the opponents in the
first three circuits without getting beat you get a Special Circuit which
has all the hardest guys in it. You can beat these guys by learning their
techniques and hitting them hard.
Graphics 8 out of 10
The graphics are awesome. I thought Nintendo did great animations on
all the guys. The ring and crowd are very good too. If you get beat by any
of the guys they make fun of you which I thought was pretty neat. The
ending isn't anything great but that's all right.
Music and Sound 8 out of 10
I think the music while your fighting is all right. It gets annoying if your
frustrated but not that much. I think the music when you pick them and
they talk to you is a lot better because it goes with the character but
none of it is real bad. The sound effects are awesome. Like when you punch
them it sounds as real as it can and the super punch has a good effect. The
intro is pretty neat too. I liked the music on this a lot.
Game Challenge 9 out of 10
This game will take you a long time to beat because you have to learn every
single guys move and learn how to hit him fast enough to knock him down
three times (mostly, but sometimes it's only two) or else you run out of
time and you lose the match which will hurt your chances to get the Special
Circuit severally. I can guarantee you it will take you the longest to beat the
Special Circuit and it will take you a while to beat the game. The challenge
good though.
Game Play-Fun 9 out of 10
Super Punch Out is one of my favorite games for Super Nintendo and that is
because it's so fun. My favorite guys on this game are Bob Charlie and Mr.
Sandman those, in my opinion, are the funniest guys in the game. I also like
how it took me awhile to beat it. I don't like those kind of games where you
beat it in five minutes but this one will take you a while and it makes it fun too.
Frustration
This game is very frustrating but it doesn't leave a bad taste in your mouth.
Instead it make you want to play it more. I thought the most frustrating guy
in the game was Super Macho Man. If you get frustrated playing it just wait
about 30 minutes and try it again because you'll never beat it frustrated.
Replayability 7 out of 10
This is a good game to replay a couple of times just to humiliate the guys
because you know all their moves so just beat them up. After you beat them
all a few times it does loose a lot though, but it's still fun. Especially when
you hit them the whole match with super punches if you're that good that
they don't hit you.
Game Value 8 out of 10
I don't know how much it costs brand new because I got mine used for $15
but it shouldn't cost more than $25. If it did than you should check prices
more carefully, but it's a good game so it's kind of worth it.
Overall 7 out of 10
I thought Super Punch Out was a pretty good game but it kind of sucks it loses
so much after you beat it and that's why I'm giving it a lower grade than the
other ones. It is fun until you beat it at least twice though.
