Graphics: Once you've played this game, you may wonder why I gave
this game such a high graphics rating. Well, it's because it's original.
While the characters look a lot like SMW's, only updated, the backgrounds
look like a kid drew them (sort of), and that is how Mario remembered it,
still being a baby. Graphics are pretty cool; a lot of scaling and some
other effects and things look pretty cartoony.
Sound: Music needed to be worked on a bit, even though they got the sound
down really well. The music just seems sort of repetitive and boring and
the quality isn't even that great.
Gameplay: A really fun game, it's very original for a sidescroller. You
play as Yoshi, Mario's friend dinosaur, and he can do a few cool things.
One of the things he can do is butt stomp, but what's really cool is that
he can shoot out eggs after he eats an enemy. The object of the game
is to make your way through a bunch of levels, get to a boss, and finally
the last boss. Just like almost every other sidescroller. It's really a fun
game and I totally recommend it. For those who are nitpickers about games,
the controls are also very good.
Hardness factor: Even years ago when this game first came out, I found it
easy. While it would have been more fun if it were harder, it still doesn't
affect the game too much.
Overall: 7.5 out of 10. A very good game that I definitely recommend
getting. Probably the best sidescroller for the SNES.
