Hardness factor: 4 out of 10
Overall factor: 8 out of 10
Graphics: Graphics are updates of the original (except in the case
of Super Mario World) and it is really a nice addition. Basically a
port of all the NES Mario games with new graphics.
Sound: Sound is just like the original. It's pretty nice and there's not
really much else to say about it except that it does sound pretty
much like NES music.
Gameplay: 5 games in 1. Super Mario Bros., Lost levels (Super Mario
Bros. 2 in Japan), Super Mario Bros. 2 (Mario Bros. USA in Japan) Super
Mario Bros. 3, and thrown in there is Super Mario World. All of the
games play pretty much the same, where you kill enemies by jumping
on them or hitting them with an item and make your way through to
the end of the level, to the boss, and ultimately to Bowser. Pretty
much classic, I think everyone knows Mario bros. The only game that
is even the slightest different would have to be Super Mario Bros. 2.
In this game you try to make your way to the end of the level, but you
pick up enemies and plants from the ground in order to harm enemies.
The last boss is also different in this game. The reason this game is
so different is it isn't part of the original Mario Bros. series. Nintendo
thought 'Lost levels' would be boring for America, so they took a game
called Doki Doki Panic and changed some things in it, including the
characters. It's still a very fun game however.
Hardness factor: Not hard at all, especially to experienced gamers.
Younger gamers may have some trouble in Super Mario Bros. and lost
levels because of having to jump over large pits and land on small spaces.
Overall: 8 out of 10. Nice graphics, sound, and gameplay. People that
missed out on the classics should definitely get this game. People
that have played the originals, however, shouldn't since they aren't
missing anything.
