Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island
Reviewed by VGW Man
Yoshi has been in many Mario games, and Yoshi as the main controllable
character this time around actually could compete against the brothers.
Yoshi did so good with this game that I must give a review of him, and
someone on his back. Who is it? Here is a hint: Watch the introduction.
Graphics 10 out of 10
ACM graphics weren't used. This time, the Super FX chip was used, and
used it wonderfully. This game looks as though someone drew this on crayon.
If a child did this, then all I have to say is WOW!
Music and Sound 9.5 out of 10
Excellent music and sounds accompany this game. Only one thing stops
this game from being perfect for the ears. Whenever Yoshi gets hit, the
"thing" on his back goes in a bubble, and starts crying. Other than that,
good job.
Game Challenge 9.5 out of 10
The game forces you to play through each level, and some people might
think they would want to skip levels. When those people beat a level,
they forget about it--BAD IDEA! Each level has secrets that must be
explored to access extra secrets. The easy stages are perfect for practice,
while the later ones make you remember those skills. There are other
challenges, but I don't want to give everything away.
Game Play-Fun 9.5 out of 10
The controls take a little to get used to, especially when egg throwing.
However, everything else is great. Just practice a while, & you'll get
the hang of it.
Frustration
The crying is annoying, but other than that, nothing frustrated.
Game Value 9.5 out of 10
Why do I say this again? If you don't have the money, don't get it.
