Graphics: Graphics aren't bad for this game, even though it was released
relatively early in the SNES's career. Characters look amusing and are
detailed and you really have to love how Kid Yang looks. Most of the
game has a 'darker' color scheme to it, though characters look a bit cartoony.
Sound: Music is pretty cool. There are a lot of catchy tunes and the SFX
are also cartoony.
Gameplay: What's basically called a Platformer, but it's also a sidescroller.
On the 'map' you can move in all directions and enter houses to learn where
to go all the while getting rid of enemies that stand in your way. When you
do find out where to go, the game turns into a unique sidescroller. While
there's nothing really complex in it's system; enemies actually vary in each
stage and look really cool. You also collect cats to upgrade your weapon.
Levels are interesting and unique, just like the rest of the game, and there's
even a game room where you can play air hockey, 'off the wall' (breakout)
and even the first level of Gradius 3. A really cool game.
Hardness factor: The game isn't really that hard, except for some bosses
if you don't have any of your weapons upgraded. The later levels get hard
with all the pits you have to jump over, so be forewarned.
Overall: 6.5 out of 10. A really good game that came out in the early days
of the SNES. It's fun and you'll probably replay it a few times when you get
it. Too bad they never translated the other Goemon games for the SNES.
