Gameplay: 8 out of 10
Hardness factor: 8 out of 10
Overall: 8 out of 10
Graphics: Graphics are pretty good, nice and dark and sort of glossy.
There's a lot of detail in the characters, even though most enemies
are the same as ones on a previous level, just a slightly different
face and clothes/color. Still, they are pretty good.
Sound: I didn't really like the sound in this game as much as everything
else. It was upbeat and sounded like 90s music, but the 'instruments'
are just weird.
Gameplay: One of the best and most popular beat `em ups out there
(Double Dragon I was probably more popular when it came out). You
get a choice of 2 characters (there was 3 in the arcade game) who
have different strengths and weaknesses and you must make your
way to the end of a level. What I really like about this game is that
your character has a few more moves than most beat 'em ups, there's
various weapons lying around, and the bosses are the coolest. A really
fun game that you'll probably play a few times over.
Hardness factor: This game gets hard, especially on the harder
settings. Bosses (and tough enemies) are vulnerable to attacks
shortly after you knock them down and it gets really annoying,
especially the second to the last boss. Enemies are usually pretty
easy, though they may catch you off guard.
Overall: 7.5 out of 10. Nice graphics, sound that is okay, and classic
and fun gameplay. A must get for those who liked the Double Dragon
or Streets of Rage series. This would probably be one of my all time
favorite SNES games, though the Arcade and GBA versions are better.
