Reviewed by Master Luigi It's a day like any other. A crow is chasing a worm, a worm named Jim. Today the worm escapes to safety and the crow eats dirt. Meanwhile, in outer space... Psy-Crow is chasing a small renegade ship. The ships pilot has stolen an ultra-high-tech-indestructible-super-space-cyber-suit. Psy-Crow overtakes the renegade ship and they face off head to head. Psy-Crow pulls his gun. The renegade pulls an even bigger gun. Wrought with gun envy, Psy-Crow pulls out a huge monster gun. The renegade, realizing he has been outmatched, pleads for mercy. But Psy-Crow, under direct orders from the evil Queen Pulsating, Bloated, Festering, Sweaty, Pus-filled, Malformed, Slug-for-a-Butt, blasts the renegade and his entire ship to smithereens. The suit falls gently to a strange planet below. The strange planet is our planet. PLANET EARTH. Back on earth, our slimy hero is wondering if it's safe, and if he has eluded the crow. Jim looks left, then right. It seems he has given the crow the slip. Jim returns to his normal daily life, cruising about avoiding crows and doing other general worm-like things. Until... Jim is suddenly struck by a very large ultra-high-tech-indestructible-super-space-cyber-suit. Through sheer luck, Jim rests safely in the neck ring of the suit. Suddenly, the ultra-high-tech space particles of the suit begin interacting with Jim's soft wormy flesh. A radical light-speed evolution takes place. Jim soon realizes he is in control of the suit, and we witness the birth of Earthworm Jim. Jim checks out the suit and he notices a red thingie attached to his side, which just happens to be a plasma blaster. He pulls it out of the holster and starts playing with the buttons. Meanwhile, off in the distance, the crow is still looking for his lunch. Jim finds the trigger and lets loose with a plasma blast. BLAMO! The crow is torched! Taking a moment to gather his thoughts, Jim leans up against a tree. Due to the suit's incredible power, Jim forces the tree over, right on top of the now barely conscious crow. His life time nemesis is never to be seen again. Our hero thinks he's got it pretty easy now, but... he hears something in the distance. Psy-Crow, the intergalactic bounty hunter, is standing over a burn in the grass which the suit had left behind. Peering over the toppled tree, Jim sees Psy-Crow talking to the Queen, informing her that the suit is very near. The Queen knows that the suit will make her even more beautiful than her imprisoned twin sister, 'Princess-What's-Her-Name.' Jim decides he needs to meet this Princess and dashes off to find her before Psy-Crow can find him and the suit...

Graphics 8 out of 10

The graphics in this game are fairly decent for what else is on the Super NES. For example, in New Junk City (the first level) whenever the sun comes out, you see a glare appear on your picture. In some other games I've played, when the sun comes out from behind something, it doesn't shine.

Music and Sound 9 out of 10

The SFX in this games are great! The music is also pretty good. And it normally matches the place your at. For example, when your bun gee jumping with Major Mucus the background music is actually sounds like something you'd hear when you go bun gee jumping. The explosions are also pretty dang good.

Game Challenge 10 out of 10

This game is pretty hard, even on 'Practice'. The Pod Race is almost impossible, in 'Snot-a-Problem Round 3' Major Mucus doesn't go very far when you nail him, and the 'Use Your Head' part in Buttville is impossible for a beginner. However, the challenge doesn't compare with the computer version.

Game Play-Fun 9 out of 10

Fun game. However, when you've played and beaten it about a hundred times like I have, it starts to get a tad boring.

Frustration

The frustration in this game is high. the Pod Race gets about 80% of it. The other 20% is divided between 'Buttville', 'Use Your head', 'Snot-A-Problem round 3', 'Level 4', and 'For Pete's Sake'. The computer version has these levels along with 'Big Bruty' and 'Intestinal Distress' which are found ONLY in the computer version. These levels are not in the cartridge version.

Replayability 7 out of 10

This isn't the type of game you'd play 24-7. But what can I say. It's the type of game where you can pick up right where you left off and play it again and again and again and again... the computer version is easier to pick up off where you left off mainly because when you access a level (or use a code to access all levels [type 'getthecheesetosickbay]) you can go to any level you have accessed.

Game Value 8 out of 10

I don't know how to do this one. I got my compy for free. But I would have paid 10 bucks for it. It's loads of fun and a laugh riot! One of the funniest thing about this game is watching Jim's pants fall down (with little hearts all over it) and he has to stops and pick them up. Don't worry. This only happens when you just sit there for a while.

Humor 13 out of 10

This game is funny! First, there's Jim's pants falling down, him blasting his face in with his gun, a cow landing on a woman, and this is just a small part of it! There's also psycho crows, cows, a dog that beats the day lights out of you if you drop him, and much more! The only thing funnier than this game is watching Ness bash his face into a corner in Super Smash Brothers or 'Big Head' mode in 'Duke Nukem: Zero Hour'!

Overall 9 out of 10

This game is fairly good. After all, if it stunk, Jim wouldn't have gotten: 1. A sequel 2. His own line of action figures 3. His own Saturday-Morning cartoon show on KidsWB.
