Donkey Kong Country
Reviewed by Tayo Adaran
Donkey Kong Country is a fun filled adventure game for the SNES.
This game has very sharp, slick, realistic graphics. This game is
one of the best adventure games ever made for the SNES. There are
tons of levels for you to enjoy which start off easy and slowly get
harder and harder. But once again one of the things you will enjoy
most of all are the graphics. Once you have a little experience in this
game you will find a lot of secrets in ditches in the middle of no where
and some secrets will be pretty easy to find. But some secrets in this
game take a lot of skill. There are several different enemies in this
game can be very hard to get rid of.
Graphics 9.5 out of 10
It seems that Rareware took a lot of time planning out this game so that
Donkey Kong Country would the best game for the SNES. This game has
some of the best graphics you will ever see on the SNES. The graphics
are so amazing you have to play this game for yourself to see what I am
talking about, and for once in a video game the water is actually clear
instead of blue. The graphics in this game are almost as good as the
Nintendo 64's except it is not 3-D although some objects in the game are.
Music and Sound 8 out of 10
The music in this game is quite classical and boring unless you like
that kind of music. But in some parts of this game there are some nice
funky rhythms and beats. The sound level in this game is a little to low
that I have to put the TV volume to almost 30. I personally don't really
care about the music and sounds in a video game as long as get good
game play. The one sound I like in this game is when Donkey Kong bangs
on his chest and makes an ape noise.
Game Challenge 8 out of 10
This game is quite challenging although I think the beginning is way
to easy for anybody who is looking for a challenge. But don't take
this game for granted as some levels can be tricky and almost
impossible to pass without a code or trick. Some of the enemies
are hard to get by and can only be killed by Donkey Kong. Some of
the enemies seem harmless but could kill you quite easily without
you expecting it. This game has a couple of codes but I think only
one gives you a playing advantage. The code gives you 50 lives
which I am sure will help you in you game play.
Game Play-Fun 7 out of 10
This game is a real attention getter and is very fun to play. It
tends to get kind of boring after playing for a while on a level you
can't pass. But the game is very exciting when you making progress
in the game and start discovering tricks and secrets in levels. You
can save the game as you go along. This game has two player
modes. One is when you and another player play as a team and another
mode is when you and another player play against each other and try
to complete the levels before each other. There are to characters you
can be in this game which are Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong. Diddy
Kong is much faster and can jump higher that Donkey Kong. Donkey
Kong can kill a lot more enemies than Diddy Kong can and has a lot
more power when climbing.
Frustration
The things that may frustrate you are when you can't pass a level or
passed a level but can't remember how you passed or when you keep
dying at the same place in a level. To me, the most frustrating things
are at the beginning of the game all the time wasted during the game
introduction and when I have almost past the level and you die.
Game Value 6 out of 10
This game is worth buying but once you have beat the game, it's not
that fun to play anymore.
