Donkey Kong Country 3
Reviewed by Comet
The Kongs are partying on Donkey Kong Island, when one morning Dixie finds
a note from Diddy, saying that he and Donkey have gone to explore the northern
Kremisphere. After they have been gone for two days, Dixie sets out to find
them, only to see that new Kremlings have arrived.
Graphics 9 out of 10
The graphics are quite good, especially in the underwater levels. In the boss
levels, you see how they get hurt. All the Donkey Kong Country games have
that type of graphics. It's like 3D, except that it's side-scrolling. The only
thing that isn't good is that the playing screen sometimes melts into the
background. The graphics aren't as good a N64 games, but the best I have
seen for the Super NES.
Music and Sound 10 out of 10
The sound and music is the best! The music fits the background, like if
your in a Kremling Co. level, you hear metal klangs. or in ripsaw rage you
hear the saw climbing up to get you. And the sounds are cool! if you or
anyone gets hurt, you hear the cry, like bawling from kiddy and a grunt
from the kremlings. even if they don't talk, it doesn't compare to any
other Super NES games
Game Challenge 8 out of 10
The first two worlds are easy, even when trying to get all the bonuses.
After that, the challenge increases, especially by the bosses. it is hard
to get all 103%, because it's easy to overlook the bonuses and DK coins.
The hardest levels to beat are in Krematoa, though Kaos Kore has a lot of
challenges too. The hardest part is to get through "Rocket Rush" (krematoa)
without losing too many lives. The challenge isn't so great though, because
I managed to beat the game in two weeks.
Game Play-Fun 7 out of 10
This game is a lot of fun if your playing for the first time, but after you beat
it once it gets a bit boring. you already know all the endings, you've explored
just about every corner of the northern kremisphere, and all the goodies are
got. Still, this game is fun, even when stuck on one level, because you can
always go back and play a different level. and the funniest levels, are the
ones where you are in the tobogans or the one where ellie is scared by the
mice. you go at top speed, and have to avoid as many enemies as possible,
because they might make you bounce into another.
Frustration
This game can get frustrating after some time without getting any further
but that's not so bad because, as i just mentioned, you can play the levels
you all ready beat. Its not that frustrating, but its not easy either,
especially if you can't beat a boss.
Replayability 5 out of 10
After beating the game the first time, the only challenge is to try to get to
the top of the all times great list. (You have to get 103% in less than five
hours.) It does get boring, so that you might want to take a break from the game.
Game Value 8 out of 10
The game is priced a bit extreme ($49.99), but it is worth it. it's the best
Donkey Kong Country game, because of the exploration you have to do on the
world map. You also don't have to wait to save your game. You can go back to
the other worlds and save it there. It's one of the best games I've played, and
it can't just be rented. By the time you rent it again, your file would be erased.
So if you want to play it, you should buy it.
