Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy Kong's Quest
Reviewed by Jeffrey
Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy Kong's Quest continues where the ever
popular Donkey Kong Country left off. K. Rool has taken Donkey Kong to
Crocodile Isle and it's up to Diddy and his girlfriend Dixie to get him back.
The challenge rises up in this popular sequel and keeps you busy with a
Lost World. Multiple endings make you search harder for bonus levels to
get the Kremkoins. If you liked Donkey Kong Country, you'll love this.
Graphics 9 out of 10
The graphics were excellent for a 16-bit system. They could have done
just a little better but not much. They met the quality of Donkey Kong
Country and added that little extra spice that makes it better. The backgrounds
seemed more realistic than the first and you can't get much better than that
on a Super Nintendo. Enough of my babbling and on to the main point. The
graphics rocked.
Music and Sound 7 out of 10
The music I thought was a little off. I know some of you may disagree but
this is my personal opinion. The sound was ok and they used a lot of sounds
from Donkey Kong Country. The music is what brought it down to 7. It was
fairly good but could have fit in with the background a little more.
Game Challenge 8 out of 10
There was absolutely no challenge at the first few levels but as you continue
the challenge grows and grows. The castle levels are hard if you are an average
Joe at games but if you're a gamemaster you'll have no problem. Some challenge
came from how hard it was to control the other animals (such as snake, bird, etc.)
Game Play-Fun 10 out of 10
The game was fun. What more can I say? Levels didn't give you an absolutely
hard time. The characters were great. There was a little bit of humor. A
quiz for extra lives. In a nutshell, there's nothing not to like.
Frustration
The only frustration I had was on levels like Toxic Tower where if you
messed up.....(slides finger across neck) Other than that there is no
frustration for experienced players.
Replayability 9 out of 10
No matter what there is almost always some little thing you missed.
Even if you did get all the stuff you try to beat Cranky's time it took to
beat the game. Overall, there is a lot of replayability
Game Value 8 out of 10
Everything you expected, nowadays you could find it at a good gaming
store for $20.00. It really is worth the money since you love to play
it over and over.
Overall 9 out of 10
Overall I give this game two thumbs up. it was a good game had a lot of
winning qualities you expect in a good game. Not to mention, the 3d like
worlds and all. So like I said at the beginning, if you like Donkey Kong
Country, you'll love this!
