WCW vs. NWO: World Tour
Reviewed by VGW Man
This is the first wrestling game for the N64, and it is one of the best
games for the system. Don't believe me? Read the review.
Graphics 8 out of 10
The graphics were some of the best. All of the wrestlers could wear up
to four kinds of clothing, and all look nice. The arenas also looked like
what they should be. The only complaints are that the crowd is too much
2-D and in four-player mode, during a grab, other players will go through
the grabber and grabby. It is some times necessary to do this, but other
than that, a good job!
Music and Sound 9 out of 10
Sounds were just as they were supposed to be. This game has catchy tunes
(there is one in the DOA stage that I still hum), and realistic groans and
cheers from the crowd. Some wrestling sounds didn't sound great, and there
are no voices from the wrestlers.
Game Challenge 8 out of 10
This game can be for anyone, difficulty wise. The three difficulty levels
are for different players, while the wrestlers have some unique moves that
make them challenging. Also, for the non-violent freaks, you can turn the
realistic mode off.
Game Play-Fun 9 out of 10
This game is both easy to have fun with and easy to learn the controls.
There about one hundred moves per wrestler (I might be off). Some moves
are a little hard to pull off, especially in hard mode, where some moves
might not work at all. Still, the basics and most advanced moves are there.
Rumble Pak 4 out of 10
For a game that uses the Rumble Pak, I didn't feel much rumble. Only when
you suffer does it rumble, and rumble weak.
Frustration
Frustration? I didn't find any, except you must use the memory card to save
every time you play. In other words, the game doesn't save by itself: The
memory card is required.
Replayability 10 out of 10
How can you say you beat the game when you beat just one league? There
are many moves and leagues to complete, and with the difficulty levels,
you will be laughing at some of the moves and slams too much to notice
Game Value 9 out of 10
The only reason this game doesn't get a perfect score is because in some
places it is too expensive. Oh, well. Not everything can be at a small price.
