WCW/NWO Revenge
Reviewed by Sean
Well we got what we wanted. The long awaited game WCW/NWO Revenge
hit the stands and sold out in most stores. It was a game that gave the
Playstation a hard time. A wrestling game hit the stands also about a
year before Revenge came out. A much similar game called WCW vs. NWO
World tour. They both are the same yet extremely different. They both were
made by AKI so you would expect the same game, but you'd be surprised
at the differences.
Graphics 8 out of 10
The graphics on Revenge blew me away. they got every little detail in,
like diamond Dallas Pages Tattoo's. I'm a big wrestling fan so I know the
details. The costume on the characters matched and passed with flying colors.
So your probably saying why the 8 then. Well some of the graphics were a
little choppy, for instance some times in the game the players would look
like a cardboard cut out. All in all the graphics were the best graphics of
a 64 game yet.
Music and Sound 10 out of 10
The music and sound was great. the music seemed to follow your characters
movement. If u hit the opponent the music got loud for a slit second. The
music really didn't annoy me either, unlike the World Tour music. The sound
effects also were great. with the graphics realistic sound affects when
you cheer or hit some one really puts you in the game.
Game Challenge 6 out of 10
The game is hard at first, and hard as you go up difficulty levels, but as
soon as you beat medium its all the same, but it does get significantly harder.
You get real aware, the grabs are faster and the computer is more aware of
your moves and is not sitting there the whole time. When you first get it it
will be hard. It gets easier, but its still fun to play.
Game Play-Fun 8 out of 10
This game is extremely fun. The ability to bring weapons in the ring (unlike
World Tour) makes the game really fun. The high-fly moves, grabs, slams is
all good. I love it. Its very addicting to play. The enhancement of 40 superstar
wrestlers and 80 in all is great. I play it for hours, but it can get boring fast
after you play it for a long time and go to play it again, but then you find
your-self wanting to play it again.
Rumble Pak 1 out of 10
Yes the Rumble Pak makes a little difference, but all you feel is the slams on
the matt, and that's not enough. I recommend not to use it. It starts to be
just a heavy burden on your paddle. It's not worth it. Hey now I'm not
saying never use the Rumble Pak, its good on a lot of games, just not this one.
Frustration
I get bits of frustration in the game when I start to loose and I try to hit the
opponent but the attack first, it can get frustrating, but you get over it.
Replayability 8 out of 10
This is a weird game. Its fun as hell to play but it gets boring fast after you
play it a lot. It still is fun though. If your not playing it you can hear it
calling your name to play. Unlike role playing games when u beat them the magic
is over. This can get boring but it is fun to play.
Game Value 6 out of 10
Revenge could be a little cheaper. Its price is ok but not worth it by ten or
five bucks. If you are planing on buying it I would do it.
