WCW Nitro
Reviewed by Braden
Right off the bat I would like to say this is an awesome game. Of all
my friends, only one of them actually enjoys it, besides me. I am glad
to see some else also likes this game (Diamond Dallas Steve). I own
this game, and I am going to tell all of you out there why you should
all buy it.
Graphics: 8 out of 10
These are awesome graphics. They almost beat Mayhem in that
department. The crowd is probably the weakest point of the graphics,
but that doesn't matter. These awesome good graphics totally out weigh
that. The rings look really good. Also, every character, even the hidden
ones are wearing their real life costume. The only other bad thing about
the graphics is that the game will glitch every once and a while.
Music and Sound: 6 out of 10
The music isn't all that good. They could have made it better, which they
should have. The grunts, slams and crunches all sound pretty good. But
hey, if you don't want to listen to the music then just mute it and put a
CD on or something.
Game Challenge: 7 out of 10
This game can be pretty challenging. The easy difficulty is too easy.
But hard is pretty hard. Going through the tournament on easy is a piece
of cake. Going through it on hard takes some time. It can be extremely
frustrating at times also. Same with battle royals. Also, the controls
make the game tougher, but you get pretty used to it, if you play it enough.
Game Play-Fun: 8.5 out of 10
This game is a blast. I love it. It is fun giving your least favorite wrestlers
your finisher 100 times over and over. The tournaments are pretty cool.
The battle royal it awesome, especially with more than 1 human player.
The only down side is no weapons, but that doesn't bug me too much. I
would give it a 10 if it had one more type of match like a tag tournament
or something.
Frustration
This game only gets frustrating when you play on hard. For example: you
lose in the tournament, or even a normal match. It almost seems like the
cpu cheats or something because it seems way harder to pull off moves on
hard. The only other frustrating thing is when you are a wrestler you like
and you are thrown out of a battle royal. I almost forgot to mention the
controls. To first time players, the controls can pretty frustrating also.
Replayability: 8 out of 10
This game has a lot of replayability. And I won't lie to you, I haven't played
this game for a while , but I have been busy and I have been trying out other
games, but this is still one of my favorites. It is definitely worth playing
again and again with friends and by yourself as well.
Game Value: 10 out of 10
It is totally worth the price. My mom bought it for like $25 American (I live
in Canada) which is worth like $35-$40 Canadian. I am happy I got it. It is one
of my top 5 favorites. I have played this game thousands of times, and will
play it thousands and thousands more. I strongly encourage people to buy it.
Overall: 8 out of 10
Overall, this game rocks! I don't understand why no one likes it. Listen to
Diamond Dallas Steve and I, play this awesome game. Rent it at least. Don't
listen to everyone else out there. And for you that don't like it, you people
have something wrong with you. It is the best WCW game for the N64, and
possibly the best wrestling game for it as well. Like I said in my Game value
paragraph, I strongly encourage that you people buy it, you will not be
disappointed, unless you already are.
