Turok: Rage Wars
Reviewed by Panther
For all of you shoot em' up fans that like Goldeneye's multi player,
you'll love this game. The game is pretty much just made for
multi player, although it has a one player trial, it is pretty much
the same a multi player. This game is a great idea if you have 4 people
over especially. The reason that this game is so good at multi player is
because that is pretty much all it was made for, with an amazing 36
different multi player levels and 17 different characters to choose from
with their own unique abilities. If you liked all the Turoks before, and
actually wanted a GOOD multi player Turok game, this is the one for you.
Graphics: 8.5 out of 10
The graphics in this game are great. They have the great looks of the
whole level, down to the littlest detail on a wall or floor. The only
small problem with the graphics that I saw was that sometimes you
could shoot at a person and have the bullet miss by a few inches and
they would still count it as a hit. The death animations are pretty good,
especially the one with the chest burster. Although they are good, I think
they could be better, like the ones in Turok 2. The graphics in this game
are good and deserve an 8.5 out of 10.
Music and Sound: 9 out of 10
The music and sound in this are great, especially the sound. The sound
really lets you here the blood splatter. The music in this is ok. Some of
the music you hear in the multi player is great, but some of it is just a
few beats on a drum. This game has great sound, and some great music too.
Game Challenge: 10 out of 10
This game has a great challenge because of the medals that you have
to get. The one player trials aren't very hard to beat, but getting
medals in multi player is. There are 50 medals all together, including
36 achievement medals for each level. There are also some for beating
bosses and achieving certain tasks. The ones for achieving tasks are
very hard, and can take a long time to get. Even when you are just playing
multi player for fun, if you set the computer players to expert they act
like real people, and are still a challenge to beat, even after you are an
expert yourself. If you like games that have a great challenge this is
another reason to buy the game.
Game Play-Fun: 11 out of 10
This is one of the funniest games I have ever played, and the best
multi player. Getting the medals should keep you playing and having
fun for a while (I should tell you that if you buy the American version
and can't find the last medal, there is a glitch and you can't get it,
unfortunately.) Once you are done with that the multi player never gets
boring because even if you are alone the computer players act just like
humans. So it is like you are playing with someone else all of the time.
The computer players can be very hard if you set them to expert and they
never get much easier, even when you play them for a long time they are
still a challenge. With all of the different combinations you can do, it
should never get boring.
Rumble Pak: 10 out of 10
Great with the rumble pak because you can feel everything that you
would in real life. The explosion rumble is different depending on how
far you are away from it. All guns you expansion, and it is a great
game for the pak.
Frustration
The only frustration in this game is trying to get some of the medals
because some of them never seem to work. But if you try enough you
should be able to get them.
