Star Soldier: Vanishing Earth
Reviewed by The Shades of Gray
There are few games for the Nintendo 64 that are space shooters.
This is disappointing because the NES had so many. Though this game
brings back that original fun an modernizes it with graphics and
game play. This game is great.
Graphics 7 out of 10
Okay these aren't your top of the line 3d graphics and they're not
supposed to be. The thing that makes this game so great is the
fact it stays true to a classic side scroller format, but it has a
bit of an update on graphics to help it out in the 90's. Many of the
explosions are cool and so are the bad guys. The graphics look like
what you would expect from an updated space shooter.
Music and Sound 6 out of 10
I find the intro's jazz music to be quite annoying. But after that
it gets better. The music in this game is like elevator music, with
standable. The sound effects of this game are also good. But the
thing I really like about this games sound is that it uses voices!!!! I
can't tell you how sick and tired I am of reading Nintendo 64 games
storylines. If this technology is so updated then why haven't they
added voices? But this game has them and boy are they cool.
Game Challenge 10 out of 10
This game is really cool in the aspects of selecting your difficulty.
This game isn't bet it, becomes too easy, throw it away game. This
game will never get boring! Once you've bet it on HARD, MEDIUM, or
EASY you can try to find the secret missions. Our try for the best
points. Plus their are sub games to keep your interest.
Game Play-Fun 7 out of 10
This game really depends on whether you like space shooter games
or not. If you like space shooters then you'll love this game because
it works like any other space shooter. But if you hate space shooters
then you'll hate this game. And if you no clue what a space shooter is
and if you like it or not, rent this game and then you'll know.
Frustration
None by being able to set the skill level you can make it as hard or
as easy as you want to reduce the frustration level.
Replayability 10 out of 10
You'll be coming back time and time again either to bet it on different
skill levels, get more points, or find those secret levels.
Overall 7 out of 10
Like I have said countless times in this review it all depends upon if you
like space shooters or not. Get it if you do, put it in the back of your mind if you don't.
