Pokemon Snap
Reviewed by Beth
Pokemon Snap is a basically simple game. It is for one player only,
and is compatible with rumble pack. It features Pokemon in their natural
habitats where you are free to take all the pictures you want (Sorry no
battling). There are 7 courses total(Beach, Tunnel, Volcano, River, Valley,
Caves, and Rainbow Cloud).
It's a great way to kill time, and you can get your pictures of Pokemon
printed for $3 at certain places (Mostly video stores). The sticker sheet
is 4 Pokemon 4x each--a total of 16 stickers.
Graphics: 9 out of 10
Yes, the Pokemon do look like Pokemon. Their overall appearance and texture is
great. They do not walk into the walls, or walk on air,or anything dumb like that.
Although there are some minor problems.
1. Pikachu's thunder does not really come from his cheeks. It comes
from the ground in the game. In fact it looks more like beams of light than lightning.
2. Not really problem with graphics, but Gyarados's water spray does
not really have that much water, I think it needs a little more water.
3. Charizard's flamethrower looks perfect!
Music and Sound: 8 out of 10
Music in this game in not too amazing, for some people I know, it can
get annoying. I personally don't really notice it when I'm playing. It's
mostly just that "happy" kind of music. Each course has its own
different music, and the Pokeflute has 3 different songs on it.
The sound is great for sound effects though. Each Pokemon sound like it should.
I think that Jigglypuff's singing is the best sounding sound on the game.
Game Challenge: 10 out of 10
Up in the introduction I said that Pokemon Snap is a basically simple game.
True, the game controls are simple and easy to learn, and the game is
even easy to finish. You can complete the game in less than an hour! But
how easy is it to master the game? In other words, how easy is it to get
a perfect (size, pose, centering, # of Pokemon, and special) picture of every
Pokemon?? Let's just say that you could die trying! That's what makes Pokemon
Snap such a challenging game! This game takes a lot of speed, timing , skill,
patience, and luck!
Game Play-Fun: 9 out of 10
Pokemon Snap is a fun one player game to play. But it is even more fun
when more than one person owns the game--the competition for
ownership of pictures can really get fierce! In my game, I own nearly
every picture while my brother and sister try so hard to beat them :).
Also all 151 DO NOT appear in Pokemon Snap, only about 75, I think.
Frustration
You want to see frustration and boiling, uncontrollable rage?!?! You
should see me when someone beats MY picture that I worked so hard
to get, and the worst part is that their win was PURE luck!!! They didn't
even mean to beat it , they just go to a coarse once and snap some lucky
shot, and go Ha! Ha! And I try so hard to get it back....
Overall: 9 out of 10
If you like relaxing(most of time) games or you don't like to see Pokemon
battle than this is a game for you. (And yes I do like to fight with my
Pokemon!) If you want stickers of your Pokemon, than this if the game
for you. If you want a simple challenge, than this game is for you. I enjoy
Pokemon Snap, but just to make sure, I suggest that you rent it first.
(When we rented Pokemon Snap it became overdue for nearly a month!!!)
