NBA in the Zone 98
Reviewed by Jason
This is my review for NBA In The Zone. It is a great basketball game. It
is lots of fun. It is the most realistic basketball game for Nintendo 64.
Graphics 10 out of 10
The graphics are great. The players look very realistic. After a player
fowls another player or scores a basket it shows the player's photograph.
The players are very 3D. You can tell the tall players from the short players.
The courts look great. they all look like the real NBA Team's court and they
shine just like a real basketball court does. The team logos are also very
good. Each team has it's real logo and they are very detailed.
Music and Sound 8 out of 10
The sound affects for this game are great. The audience sounds very
realistic. The ball bouncing sound is very realistic. And the game has
a real announcer named Ray Clay. The reason this only gets an eight
out of ten is because of the annoying music. When you first load up the
game you hear a dumb song. It gets pretty annoying after a while. Once
you get into the game you don't have to worry about it much until you
want to see a replay. Once you click on the replay button you hear an
even stupider song than you had to hear the first time. Fortunately
music can be turned off. Sound affects are great, music is terrible.
Game Challenge 10 out of 10
The game is a great challenge. If you kill every team on the enjoy level
you can move up to exciting and that should give you a better challenge.
It will probably take a little while before you can beat every team on
this level but once you do you can move to Super Challenge which is
always a challenge.
Game Play-Fun 10 out of 10
This game is lots of fun. It is a very realistic basketball simulation.
It is fun to create your own player. You can create ten players. You can
customize your own team. You can even play an All Star Game.
Frustration
The game can be frustrating if the level you are playing at is too hard
but the level before it is too easy. The game is not very frustrating
though. It doesn't make you mad very often.
Replayability 10 out of 10
You can play this game over & over again because there are three different
levels. You can do a season and try to get into the playoffs. I think there is
a very good chance that you would want to play this game again because it
is fun and you can do a season, exhibition game, play-off game or All Star Game.
Overall 9 out of 10
Overall this is a great NBA simulation but it doesn't have all the features
that NBA Live does for Super Nintendo. Even with the controller pack you
can only create ten players. But I think it is a good game. It is defiantly
the best basketball game for Nintendo 64.
