Mischief Makers
Reviewed by Connor Towle (a.k.a. Wolfmagik)
If you are trying to find a game for a younger child or an older one this is
the game for you. With side scrolling 2 1/2d graphics and excellent sounds,
plus, it is the first N64 game with a heroine.
Graphics 10 out of 10
The graphics are excellent using 2 1/2D. Some of the objects like the
backgrounds are 3D but some others like the weapons are 2D. This game
also features mysterious scenes such as: Teran's meeting with Marina's
evil twin and meeting the bosses with their vehicles. Though the captions
are not as annoying as voices, some of the younger audiences may not be
able to read them. But, the humorous scenes such as your first meeting with
the first Justice Warrior, when he gets sick because of the snow or when
the clancers get mad at other clancers.
Music and Sound 8 out of 10
Though the music is pleasant in most cases it may also be spooky for
younger audiences like in level 4/7 when you go on a ghost hunt. The
sound effects may be humorous at times when Marina makes sounds
such as "Shake-shake" when she shakes items/enemies. If you like
music more than sound effects this is the game for you sound-wise.
Game Challenge 10 out of 10
This game is one of the most challenging I have played especially when
you fight the Justice Warriors and their vehicles and stages like
3/8:Field Day, 4/1:A level where you must beat a rock to the bottom of
the stage and 5/5:Trapped. It also contains many puzzles such as finding
all the gold gems for the best ending, getting through warp traps, using
the clanpots combos, finding missing children husband and catching them,
and using the clanbomb in the right place.
Game Play-Fun 10 out of 10
This is a fun game with many exciting puzzles, many traps and hidden
secrets which are only a few things to name, but if you would like to
know more e-mail me at wolfmagik@hotmail.com or play the game yourself.
Frustration
In some of the levels you may not be able to get through, or may keep
dying, or are having trouble finding hidden items, you shouldn't let this
spoil your fun because you can always go back to a earlier level win, and
have your good spirit back and try that level again.
Replayability 10 out of 10
This game is a game you can play over and over and I still have fun trying
to get past levels that were hard but now are easy, and I'm sure it will
be the same with you.
Game Value $60 out of $60!!!
You really get your money's worth out of this game.
Story 9 out of 10
The story is as follows: Prof. Theo and Marina Liteyears have gone to the
planet Clancer on vacation only to find trouble. Marina tells her inventor
Prof. Theo (a hapless old codger) to stay in the spaceship while she
investigates. When Marina is gone Prof. Theo complains to himself when a
bunch of enslaved clancers break in. They carry him off to give him to their
leader. When Marina comes back she finds the Prof. missing and sets out
to find him.
Hints
1. Give anything you find a shake. If you find a weapon shaking it will
increase it's power. If you are stuck in a level shaking something may
be the key to the level.
2. Collect the gold gems to get an ending (52 will give you the best ending).
3. Orange blocks are the only blocks that a clanbomb can destroy.
4. Collect red gems, they allow you to continue. Also collect blue gems to
fill up your health gauge.
5. Grab onto Mrs. Hint (the pink clanball with a bow), shake her, and pay her
10 red gems for a hint (I would recommend doing this every time).
6. Red stars are warps and blue stars end the level.
Overall 9.9 out of 10
If this game sounds easy you may want to rent it at least once and see
for yourself how hard it may be. Thank you for your time, you may see
