Mario Party
Reviewed by Sean Fitzgerald
Here's what happens, you are whatever character you choose
(Mario, Luigi, Peach, Yoshi, Wario, and Donkey Kong), and you
play on certain game boards and trying to collect stars by
collecting 20 coins, each player has their own stage game board.
And you try to stop Bowser in his tracks while he is always on
every game board, somewhere. And you try not to run into him,
because he will steal a star (not very much), and mainly coins.
As you build up your rack of coins, you can start collecting certain
items, such as different coin holders, and game blocks (most of
them are random), and soon you will be able to afford a new stage,
Bowser's Stage: "Magma Mountain." As soon as you collect 100
Stars, another new stage will open up, "The Eternal Star Stage"
which is a mixed up star, and there are baby Bowser's to help you
out. After everyone has a turn, there is a multi player game, and
it is picked randomly.
Graphics 4.5 out of 5
The graphics are really good, but not the best, because of the
mini-games, every once in a while, the graphics will not be great,
but still, the excellence of the scenery of the stages, such as
"Luigi's Engine Room" because of all the great graphic work on
the humongus wires, and the small players. But yet there isn't
very much to say about the graphics except that they are great!
Music and Sound 4 out of 5
I am not so crazy about the sound in Mario Party, but only because
of the songs and tunes that they have playing. Luckily, you can buy
a record for the juke box and so you can start listening to some
better tunes that usual, and the voices. You can also buy a talking
"mimicking" parrot and you can hear it "mimic" every ones voice.
Which is sometimes funny, and then there is some times it is just annoying.
Game Play-Fun 4.5 out of 5
Mario Party is extremely fun, but there is one exception. What I am
talking about is the repetitivity and how long the game boards are.
And, If you don't like to play the game boards, there two other
things you can do. There is the mini-game house, where you can
buy certain mini-games and play them however long you like. The
second option is the mini-game island. This is sometimes hard,
because you have to play all 53 mini-games! One after another.
This is another way to get money. So, the game play/fun factor,
is really great!
Overall 4.5 out of 5
In conclusion, I think Mario Party is really super great. Now that I
own it, I am not so sure it is quite what you should buy. I think it is
worth a couple of rentals. So, get over to rent it!
