Jet Force Gemini
Reviewed by Jacob Brown
At E3, Jet Force Gemini received the least hype out of Rare's trio of
games. Still, lots of people looked forward to the space-shooter. Rare
found out the reason to why Jet Force Gemini was the least looked at.
The heros looked like kids. This made the game look sort of awkward,
because it was a shooter full of evil bugs and splattered guts. The
characters were changed to adults to fit the theme. It's here and it great!!
Graphics: 9.9 out of 10
The environments look fantastic! Everything has a great deal of detail!
The characters and enemies have good animation. And very small things
like the radioactive plants on Goldwood to the clouds above Eschebone set
the mood. Light effects look great too!
Music and Sound: 10 out of 10
This is the best music I've ever heard in a console video game. The music
fits the planets theme. Some tunes are slow are eerie while others are
quiet and peaceful. Sound is good too! Each weapon has a distinct sound
when fired. The sound also has great detail! I'm surprised Nintendo hasn't
released a soundtrack to go along with this game.
Game Challenge: 9.5 out of 10
Everything slowly develops in this game. Goldwood is easy at first
until you bring Lupus to and it is a pain. Jet Force Gemini smoothly
throws in sweet adventure elements that will grow difficult as you
progress. Little things like tribals are mandatory to finish the game.
It's a good way to challenge the average gamer.
Game Play-Fun: 10 out of 10
The variety of guns, levels and characters is enough, but Rare goes the
extra mile to bring you much more than that. In this game you will find
great extras like a racing game, target shooting and much more. Whether
it's destroying Big Bugs to getting funky, you will have fun doing it!
Frustration
The only time you will have frustration is at the end. Covering every corner
of the universe will be hard. Tribals, hidden areas and new weapons are hard
to find. Beside that, most people won't have trouble hopping from planet to
planet to blast bugs.
Replayability: 9.5 out of 10
Jet Force Gemini goes beyond what other shooters do and delivers Rare
style fun! Shooting each other is fun, but racing as ants? Even better!
There is even a target range to practice your aim. The single player quest
might not get much replay value when it's done.
Game Value: 10 out of 10
Jet Force Gemini will please those who've waited quite a while for this
excellent title. Read above to get a better idea of what this pak delivers.
Overall: 10 out of 10
Why are still reading this? The time you read this could have been used
to go out and buy it! Simply put, one of the best games ever to be released!
