Reviewed by Guedo I was very cautious when thinking about buying this game. All I saw was some pictures and a lot of hype. I thought Star Fox would be great for deathmatches (multiplayer mode) but when I took it out, I saw that it was a waste of time. Since I play quake ALL the time, I have very high standards when it comes to first person shooters + deathmatches... I thought this game would be turok with James Bond, but oh was I wrong. First thing I noticed was amazing detail and unbelievable movement. At many moments I sit back and watch the enemies walk back and forth, trying to convince myself that they are NOT real humans. You could be tricked to. The control was a pain at first...but I got used to it. And after a day you shouldn't have any gripes with it....Now to the review.

Graphics- 9.5

probably the best graphics I have ever seen in a video game. Great color palette and the detail is very good. The enemies and friends in the movie are almost exact copies in the game. Even with the quality of graphics being superb, the frame rate is way up there and i noticed LITTLE pop-up. The death animations are very good. Also if you shoot the guy in his jewels, he will fall over in pain, just begging for you to shoot him in the head since he can't have kids anymore :)

Sound- 9.0

The sound effects are right on track. Most games have annoying sounds that keep occurring in the game and they make you want to never play it again. I was pleasantly surprised that James doesn't talk. I could see what would happen if he did. He would keep saying over and over "not enough ammo James" or "the door is locked" and it would really make me mad. The explosions sound great, and the death sounds are real cool also. No complaints here!

Gameplay- 9.9

Lets just say, this is what makes this game simply amazing. I found that the interactivity in the game provided a much better experience than I imagined. You can shoot through some doors, blow up satellites, drive tanks, blow up gas containers (creates some wicked green fog and just kills your opponents after they cough twice). Shooting holes in the wall is a lot of fun. And if saving scientists isn't an objective, once one starts to run away, chase him down and give him a good whack in the head with your sniper rifle. You saved his life after all! I didn't count all the weapons there are in the game, but I was pleased that there are PLENTY! I would say about 20...including throwing knifes, rocket launchers, grenades, auto shotguns, pistols, a buncha strange Russian automatic rifles, and the GOLDEN GUN. My favorite would have to be the DD44 Dostovei, a shiny silver automatic pistol that packs a punch. Also there are many COOL gadgets that you can use throughout the game. Door decoder, bomb defuser, a tracker, microcamera, plastic explosives, watch laser and watch magnet. You will need strategy to get by this game, and it isn't a push over...

Single player- 8.5

I'm not a big single player fan but I must say it was a joy to play. Each level has a striking resemblance to the movie. And all the different enemies make it a unique experience. I will tell you this. I got SCARED playing certain levels. Why you ask? Because I got so emmersed into the plot that I actually felt like James. Try playing "Surface" , a level where you are left out in the slow in the middle of a snow storm, where the sky is red. Oh yes, you can't see farther than 10 feet ahead of you, and enemies are chasing you wherever you go. The creepy music also helped... The missions are diverse, and well thought. You might have to blow up a helicopter, attach a tracker on it, save hostages, or break out of jail. Don't miss the 1 player mode.

Multiplayer- 9.4

Wow was this fun! 4 players duking it out in a number of levels you can choose (you can even earn more levels to play on). The settings are very adjustable, you can choose the time limit, the game type (capture the flag, golden gun, 2 lives, or license to kill. You can also choose what weapons you want in the game. But that is good and bad. I wish you could have all the weapons scattered throughout the map, where one guy can have the golden gun, and another could have a rocket launcher. So you can choose to have either pistols, rocket launchers, big guns, bombs, automatics.... Also some of the music is repetitive but I think you can turn it off. Other than those minute gripes, deathmatches are awesome, they will bring endless hours of fun to this game, boosting the replay value higher than Mario Kart 64 (which I played for about 5 months).

Overall- 9.7

Everything in this game was close to perfect, the graphics were stunning, the gameplay was just perfect. Plus it is always fun to play a spy. I can't say enough great things about this game. Buy it now!
