Gauntlet Legends
Reviewed by Alex
Today I will be doing a review of the game for Nintendo 64 gauntlet legends.
This game starts off pretty slow but ends up picking up the pace but
once again like most level building games it's bosses are a real pain
in the duedah!! The first boss should be approached with high levels good
items and preferably more than one player, as should every other boss
which follows.
I really enjoyed this game because of its one to four player capability.
All you need for up to for people is one expansion pack. The downside to
this is that all of the players must stay on the screen and there is no
split screens so all of the characters are always bunched together.
Graphics: 7 out of 10
I gave this game the rating that I found suits it. Because it was made
pretty early on it never actually had a good chance to be able to make
it up with the high rated games like perfect dark and Pokemon stadium.
Music and Sound: 7 out of 10
It has pretty good music with all of its bone chilling screeches and sound
fx. But the music after a while starts to get dull and annoying to most players.
Game Challenge: 5 out of 10
The reason why I gave this game such a low rating is because it pretty
much only has a challenge when you are trying to beat the last level
and the final boss. Also for the secret characters they should be a lot
more challenging to get. Because its pretty easy to most people to run
around in a small maze and collect little coins of different colors.
Game Play-Fun: 6 out of 10
This is a really fun game but it lacks all of the true essentials that other
N64 games have. As a result of this it has a substantial game play value.
If you are heavy into the other Gauntlet games then this one will be a real
treat for you.
Frustration
At a lot of the levels in this game there is frustration and confusion on
where to go and what to do next. The most annoying part of the game is
trying to solve all of the puzzles to get all of the rune stones. Aggravating
but to a certain point is something that I would definitely say about this game.
Replayability: 2 out of 10
This has got to be the worst thing possible about this game. The only
three reasons that you would want to play this game over again is to:
1. Get the character you were using up to level ninety-nine 2. Get all of
the secret characters that you may have missed. 3. Beat the last boss over again.
Game Value: 3 out of 10
This game would probably just sit on a persons shelf after a few days
because by then you probably would have done everything in the game.
More of a rent a couple of times and leave it at the store type of game.
Overall: 7.5 out of 10
Overall this game has some good points and some bad points but I would
probably want to give this game a try before I say to much bad stuff to
scare you all away from it.
