Chameleon Twist
Reviewed by Stephanie Z Hookshot
This game is an odd platformer. Davey, the star of the game used to be
a chameleon. He was doing what most chameleons do, eating bugs and
sitting in the sun. One day he followed a peculiar looking rabbit into
a hole. He found himself transformed into a strange-looking alien.
Your job is to guide Davy through six levels using various tricks with
his tongue. You also should try to find all the crowns on a level.
They open up bonus levels. Now I will review Chameleon Twist.
Graphics 5.0 out of 10
Graphics in Twist are pretty bland. No textures, which make it hard
to locate things. Did I mention the awful camera? Back to the graphics.
Things are very colorful and hardly ever pop-up.
Music and Sound 6.5 out of 10
The music score lasts about 5 seconds. The music varies, though and
the music is well suited to the levels. The sound effects are mostly
slurps of your tongue and stomps of feet. Why did I give the music 6.5?
Because of Bomb Land. Excellent, lively music!
Game Challenge 3.9 out of 10
Way too easy. Defeating enemies become too obvious. Slurp. Shoot.
Dead. They should of made the levels much longer. The lack of levels.
Terrible!
Game Play-Fun 7.2 out of 10
Wow! This category Chameleon Twist really excels at. The moves are
so creative! You can do a pole vault in which your tongue moves you up
higher, you can move your tongue in many different ways, slurp up
enemies and shoot em, swing yourself around poles. It's really fun!
Frustration
Arggh! Well sometimes I felt lots, especially at the bosses. Trying to
do the moves is also a bit tough. The pole vault is tough. You have
to press Z. But shockingly, sometimes it doesn't do it! It's like the game
has a mind of its own! That results in lots of frustration.
Replayability 5.9 out of 10
You could gather all the crowns, finish all the levels and beat the bosses.
What do you do now? Play the multiplayer game! That saves the game.
Weird to have a platform game have a multiplayer thing.
Game Value 5.0 out of 10
If your a five-year kid and want a challenge, this is it. If your a
9-year old and up, just rent it. I beat the game in four days.
Good Ending 6.0 out of 10
When you beat Twist, it does ignite a small feeling that you beat it.
But, when you see the credits.. Man! They are boring!
Favorite level
My favorite level in Twist was Bomb land. This one was just plain
good. Even the graphics seemed better. The sound was so good! It sure
is longer than the other music. The worst level was Kids' Land. The
puzzles were frustrating, horrible music! The levels, from best to
worst: Bomb Land, Desert Castle, Ghost Castle, Jungle Land, Ant Land,
Kids' Land.
Overall 6.1 out of 10
Chameleon Twist is a good game, but repetitive and sometimes annoying
music, plain graphics and easiness bring the score down.
