Buck Bumble
Reviewed by Phoenix Dark
Buck Bulble is, overall, a great game. It's like "Star Fox 64",
except at any time you may turn around, giving the game of
a more lifelike feel. With a shoot-em-up/puzzle genre, this is
one innovative game. I say puzzle because in many levels you
must perform certain tasks, yet you must find out how.
Plus, it's got cinema scenes! Read on.
Graphics 8 out of 10
Although the graphics are colorful, they still lack in shape. The
game producers didn't waste a lot of time on graphics, and it
shows. The graphics also sometimes mess up the depth perception.
But, the game's graphics are better than games like Star Fox 64,
so it's not so bad. Overall, if you're looking for graphics, this
might not be your game.
Music and Sound 4 out of 7
The in-game music is sort of, well, dinky, but the title screen
music is AWESOME. Of course, it's obvious the won't make a sound
track of this game. The sound effects are also pretty bad. You
could get the same out of this game if it were muted or if it wasn't.
But, the music is really the most important part of a game, so
let's move on.
Game Challenge 5 out of 10
EASY! That was the first word I said when I beat this game. With
only about 10 levels, this game flys by quick. What's even weirder
is that the story line makes this game sound long and complicated!
Although some levels get a LITTLE hard, don't buy it. Rent it. That
will give you all the time you need.
Game Play-Fun 9 out of 10
Sure, this game is short. With bad music. And stinky graphics.
You still get to fly around and shoot things! I think the real key
to the fun in this game is the freedom. You get to go anywhere,
AND you get to fly. Plus, with a 2 player battle mode, you can rip
up your friends to your heart's content. Also, with a pretty big
variety of guns (and a couple cheat codes) this game can make
even the meanest critics smile.
Frustration
A few problems:
1. Landing/taking off (Your player gets stuck a lot on the ground)
2. Aiming (One word: AAAAARRRRRRGGGGG!!!!)
3. Depth perception (It's hard to navigate through tunnels and such)
Replayability 2 out of 10
With only a few levels, this game has hardly any replayability.
Although it had a battle mode, it get's boring. This game was
made to be rented.
Game Value 9 out of 10
Seeing as the price has gone down below $10, this game just MIGHT
be worth it. With not a lot of shining points, I reccomend renting it.
Overall 38 out of 58
Nope. I guess this game just didn't cut it. Just rent it, if you want to play.
