1080 Snowboarding
Reviewed by Jeremiah David Mendoza Salonga
Have you ever wanted to crush your friend into the ice or snow but there
are no mountains or it does not snow in your area? Well, 1080
Snowboarding is the game to buy. This game is as real as it gets and
is the best snowboarding game out.
Graphics A
The graphics for this game are most likely to be the best. The game is
very realistic. It is as if you were snowboarding in a real mountain,
except for Dragon Cave, which you can jump off of and do so many tricks.
You get to pick real boards from the "Lamar" company. And most of all,
the characters you are able to pick from are so lifelike.
Music and Sound A+
I give this game an A+ because the music has different kinds of music,
for those of you who like rap, when you are picking your character, it has
that kind of music. When you are snowboarding in some levels, there is
some alternative and some techno music. So this game is very good
with the music.
The Sound is a different story, the players are able to talk to you
when picking them. when you slide on the ice, it makes the sound you
would hear in real life, when you fall, the player also makes a reaction
to the fall. They will usually say something. So basically, the sound is
outstanding.
Game Challenge A
I give this game a "A" because the challenge is good, it is just that there
are not that many courses to choose from. But the challenge is fair. The
computer that you challenge actually races as if you were racing, but
sometimes they might slip up by hitting the walls, but will catch up with
you. You can get 3 extra characters with this game. The Metal boarder, the
Crystal boarder, and the Panda boarder, but in order to get these 3
boarders, you must defeat them in a race on the last course of the game
which is "Deadly Fall". You must also win against all of the regular players.
Game Play-Fun A+
The fun factor of this game is practically perfect. Once you beat the game
and get all of the characters, you could test them out in the "Time Attack"
mode or the "Trick Attack" mode. Those are just some of the modes you can
pick from. There is also the "Contest" mode which you can rack up points by
doing tricks. So there are a lot of modes that will keep you occupied from
getting bored with this game.
Rumble Pak A+
The Rumble Pak will shake on basically everything you do on the game, from
falling, to almost tripping. There is not much to say about this part of the game.
Frustration
Yes, I had some frustrations with the game. The computer will suddenly
fall and you will think that you won, but if you mess up, you are suddenly
behind the computer. That is only one frustration I had. It takes too dang
long to get to the last stage, so you have to really be into the game or else
you will be bored. The last frustration I had was when I lost, you only have
3 lives, or should I say chances to win through like 7 courses. Now you have
to be pretty darn good to do that.
Replayability A-
I have to give this game an A- because you don't really get to see the replay
on all of your courses. When you are on Time Attack, you will be able to do
that. After you finish the course, it shows a little replay of what you did in
that stage but in different views and camera angles. I think it is average
for this feature of the game.
Game Value A+
I give the game a perfect A+ because I got the game for $40.00. Now I think
that is a pretty darn good price for what the game's genre is about.
Features of the game A+
There are many features to keep you busy on the game 24-7. First, there
is the Match Race feature. This feature allows you to race against the
computer one-on-one down the hills. But you must pick a difficulty level
before playing the game. You have to earn some of the courses. You only get
4 courses in the beginning because like I said, you have to earn the other courses.
The next feature is the Time Attack. This mode allows you to see how
fast you are on each o the courses you have. Tell your friends to try
and beat your times.
By the way, before you even do the level picking in the Time Attack
mode, you must pick 1 of the 5 characters or boarders. You will eventually
have 8 boarders when you get the codes and beat all of the game. You must
also pick a board. It does not matter what the status is on the board, it
depends on which board goes on your character. I just tested them out to
see what goes best with the characters.
The next feature is the Trick Attack. The trick attack allows you to pick
any course, including the half pipe and the air-make to do tricks on. You
are trying to rack up points in order to beat the computers score and put
in you're initials so you can show off to your friends.
The next feature is the Contest mode. This mode allows you to go through
all of the courses to see what tricks you can on them. You are also racking
up points and using the skill you used in the Trick Attack mode to get a
high score.
The next feature is the Training mode. This mode allows you to learn
the tricks you can do in the game. So you can be good at the Trick Attack
and the Contest modes.
This is all of the features except for the 2p. Vs. Mode which allows you
and another player to just go at it and race your way down the courses.
Overall A
Overall, this game is just the best in it's category. It has the best graphics
I have seen and it has the best sound and music I have seen. I love the
features it has and the way the characters talk to you. So, I leave you with
this quote: "Don't make friends, for if you desire to have a relationship with
them and you end up breaking up, it is your choice to be friends or not,
otherwise, be careful."
