Wolverine

Finally! A Marvel super hero gets a decent game for the ol' NES!
Anyone who has played "X-Men" for the NES knows what I'm talking
about (heck, anyone who has played "Wolverine" for the Super NES
knows what I'm talking about!), and It's about time...I dig this game!
Graphics 8 out of 10
The animation in "Wolverine" is superb! Wolves runs, jumps, and
punches all look really cool (I especially like the running animation!
Very fluid!). My only complaint is that Wolverine looks kinda' slight.
It is the NES but still...I've seen better. The backgrounds look cool
too! The water levels look especially cool!
Music and Sound 5 out of 10
Sadly, the music and sound are this games's weakest points.
The music is repetitive and the sound effects are too cartoony
for such a serious character like Wolverine.
Game Challenge 7 out of 10
Pretty good. Some hard jumps make it more difficult later in
the game, but you'll find yourself avoiding fights and running
through enemies rather than fighting them. The berzerker
feature will make things easier or harder, depending on if
you're fighting or jumping.
Game Play-Fun 7 out of 10
If you like platformers (like I do) then you'll have fun playing
"Wolverine". Comic fans may not like Wolves new anti-violence
approach(fights in this game are pointless) but on the other hand
they'll enjoy the cameos by the other X-Men heroes and villains
such as Jubilee, Havoc, and Magneto!
Frustration
Frustration can rise at times when you miss a jump you thought
was no problem. Also trying to jump while you're bezerk is darn
near impossible! You'll have to wait until it passes, then jump,
or you'll die a frustrating death every time!!!
Replayability 5 out of 10
Just the same as any other platformer. Once you beat it, you
won't want to play it anymore. There is very little exploring to
do so once you beat it, you've pretty much seen everything.
Game Value 8 out of 10
Wolverine is a fun game and if you spend what the going rate
for NES games is, you'll not be disappointed. But once you
beat it, prepare to trade up!
Control 8 out of 10
Making Wolverine do what you want him to do is a snap! Running
and jumping is easy and once you get the hang of it, you can be
very quick, almost like the real Wolverine! However, attacking
is VERY sluggish!
Overall 8 out of 10
All I can say is "Wolverine" is an all around fun platformer that
will please any comic or non-comic fan. Great control, animation,
and plenty of jumping! I very much enjoyed this game!
