Super Mario Bros.
Reviewed by Matt Mullen
The first game ever out for any Nintendo Entertainment system was
Super Mario Bros. for the NES. Even though this game isn't quite as
technological as Super Mario 64 it is still a classic. In this game first
player is Mario second player is Luigi. You go around stopping on Koopas,
and trying to get to bowser. There are eight levels each with three
stages a piece.
Graphics 5 out of 10
Because this game has only 8-bits the graphics aren't to good, but that
doesn't matter in this game, you can still get plenty of fun!
Music and Sound 7 out of 10
The music and sound aren't the best on this game but they still keep you on
the edge of your seat waiting for what comes next, whether it be bowser
or just a fish.
Game Challenge 8 out of 10
This game can be very challenging if you don't use the warps. You must
complete all 24 stages without losing your lives or you must start all
over again (unless you use the continue code.). But this keeps the game
challenging and you can still beat it. With warps I have beaten it under
an hour, without warps, about 5 hours I think.
Game Play-Fun 10 out of 10
This game is very fun to play even if it doesn't have the best graphics
or sounds, or 3d graphics. This game is a classic side-scrolling game
which makes it even more fun, whether it is as fun as Super Mario 64,
well, I'll let you decide.
Frustration
Sometimes this game can be frustrating if you cannot get past a certain
level or stage. This can be frustrating because it can take ever to get
past, and you can't save your game and come back to it. This can also be
frustrating because if you are on the last level and you didn't do something
that your parents asked you to do you have to turn it off then start all
over again.
Replayability 7 out of 10
This game is fun to replay because you can play against friends to see
who can beat it fastest or who can get the most points. It doesn't have a
battle mode or anything, but that's all right.
Game Value 9 out of 10
This is defiantly worth the $1 cost because it is so inexpensive, it only
loses a little bit of it's cost because lots of regular Nintendo games don't
work very well which is a down side. There is another up side though, not
only does this game come with Mario Bros. but most of them also come with
Duck Hunt which you need one of the guns for.
Overall 10 out of 10
This game is very fun and I recommend that if you have a NES, go out and
buy it if you don't already have it, this way you can experience not only
the first game for Nintendo but also Duck Hunt. I recommend this game
to everybody who has not yet played it, if they like side scrolling games
and cheap graphics. But you got to give this one a 10 out of 10 overall,
I mean after all it did start Nintendo.
