Graphics: The graphics were okay. There were a few good graphics
in this game (I thought the hand was pretty good for a NES game) but
most of them were just okay. The graphical quality was also pretty
nice and the color scheme was almost right on. Kind of boring though.
Sound: The music in this game was just a little boring. That and it was
also too childish. The quality was on the low side, but not by much.
Sound effects were okay but there was usually a pause before some of them.
Gameplay: If you've never played Monopoly, you've probably been living
in a cave your whole life. Monopoly is a popular board game by Hasbro
(Mattel) where you move a piece across a board and do different things
where it lands. There are a few squares which affect what you must do,
like skip a few turns, earn money, lose money, and move to a certain place.
However, most of the game deals with buying and selling property. When
you land on an empty property, you can buy that land up. If you buy all
of one type of color group, you can put houses or hotels on them. If
someone lands on your property, they must pay you a certain amount
of money. Anyway, the NES version is okay. While it's a lot more fun to
play the real thing, and while this game is way too quick, it's still pretty good.
Hardness factor: This really matters. The computer player is usually
pretty good, but he does mess up every once in a while. However, you
can play with other human players too.
Overall: 4.5 out of 10. This game wasn't bad, but there's nothing like
playing the real thing. If you have a family, just go out and buy the
board game. If you need a CPU to play with you, there's about a million
different good versions for the PC and Mac.
