Mega Man 5
Reviewed by Eric Holloway
Mega Man 5 is a great game. I really like it. Some of you at first
glance might think it is the same old story until you find out
Proto Man is the bad guy in this one. That is until you get to him.
Now I'm a big (no not big, BIG) Mega Man fan so I might accidentally
exaggerate about a tenth of a point.
Graphics 9.8 out of 10
You might disagree, but look at it. No graphics were too good that
day. Plus the Mega Man series has the best graphics on the NES I
have ever seen. The enemies were animated really well and looked
good in the game. Especially Gyro Man and Crystal Man. And also of
Mega Man and Dr. Light in the ending.
Music and Sound 9.2 out of 10
The Music was great and I have no complaints about it . The theme
and the stage music were fabulous! The sound was good to but had
just a little missing in variety. The best ones were probably the Charged
Mega Buster firing and the Gyro attack whirling. But it got a high score
because none of the other sound in that day was good either.
Game Challenge 9.5 out of 10
Look. this game was extremely hard for me for a month until I finally
could beat Gravity Man. I did that when I was five and I only beat it
the first time a month ago. I'm 12 now. That is a long time. but I finally
beat it and it was worth 6 1/2 years wait because this year I found out
about Proto man. I did take a break now and the and played another game.
Game Play-Fun 8.9 out of 10
Hey, this game is fun. I mean it. Especially when you get a few bosses
killed and do the level on Rush Jet. Sometimes it is more fun (and
harder) just to play through every stage and just use the Mega Buster
on the levels and bosses. But to get down to it this game is a lot of fun.
Frustration
I got frustrated a lot because I couldn't beat any boss if I couldn't beat the
level. but once you beat a few bosses, and can keep going, frustration is gone.
Replayability 9.8 out of 10
I still play this game a lot because it provides a real challenge. I like
hearing the classic music to one of my favorite classic games, Mega Man 5.
Game Value 10 out of 10
This game was only $10 when I got it in 1993 and I definitely would
have paid up to $40 probably because it just is a great game to play
at any time. And being a mega fan like myself, you just got to have it.
Overall 9.9 out of 10
Okay, this game deserves a 10, but until I checked I didn't know just
how many people thought Proto man was evil (I did too because it was
my first Mega Man game). But once you get to him, Proto man saves Mega
Man's metallic butt!! And also, I didn't know who Wily was because the
game never mentioned him and I'd never seen him. So if you like Mega
Man the tiniest bit, you will like this game.
