Graphics: The graphics in this game were pretty bland. There wasn't any
shading or detail in this game and most enemies were one colored. The
bright cartoony theme, while it fits the game well, it's a little too much.
Sound: The music is even worse than the graphics. While it's not bland,
it's annoying. It's even cartoonier than the graphics are and whoever
composed it should be shot. Sound effects are pretty much vacant from
this game and are unspectacular.
Gameplay: MC Kids is a sidescroller that's about a bunch of kids who
get sucked into McDonald's land. This game is really lame and boring.
While I understand that this game was marketed for very young kids,
I just don't see how it could interest them. Virgin Games must not have
given this game much thought since the dynamics are pretty lame. For
your first mission you are supposed to run around 7 levels (they are
almost all identical too) and try to find 4 hidden cards. You can just
go up to Ronald at the clubhouse and he'll tell you where they are, so
it makes you wonder just how lazy this guy is. Anyway, the only thing
you can do in this game is jump, jump on springboards, and pick up boxes.
You can also throw the boxes at enemies or throw them at box outlines to
fill them in (usually making a platform). The controls in this game are
very bad, which would make the game very hard if the game wasn't so easy.
Hardness factor: While the controls are very bad, it's usually hard to die.
Most enemies you can just leap over.
Overall: 3 out of 10. This game was boring and annoying all at the same
time. McDonald's should have gotten Treasure to make this game like
they did the Genesis version.
