Graphics: The graphics in this game were neat. The top-down view
was a good addition to this game, but the graphic quality is very good
too. I especially liked the color scheme in this game. Everything was
just shaded really well in game. The cut scenes were a different story.
Sound: The music in this game, while nothing spectacular, was fitting.
Just like the graphics, the music set up the game pretty well. They could
have worked on the sound effects a little bit longer.
Gameplay: The Lone Ranger is a platformer. That's where you can travel
throughout a whole map and it's not flat, like Super Mario Bros. Anyway,
you play as the Lone Ranger, and you are supposed to do different things
in order to progress further in the game. For example, the first task you
must do is find out where to get your horse. So, you go into the nearest
town, ask a bunch of questions, buy some better guns and ammo, and take
out some of the villains that are around town if you need some more cash.
Then, you exit the town and are back on the map once again where you enter
new places, or fight villains so you can enter new places. What I didn't like
about this game, though, was the fighting. Enemies shoot too soon and
sometimes too quickly. Also, it's hard to get at the right angle and also
close enough to shoot back at them.
Hardness factor: This game was kind of hard, just a little harder than most
games for the NES. This can be attributed to the lousy controls and some
of the game dynamics.
Overall: 5 out of 10. This game was about average. It had good music,
sound, and gameplay, yet it seems to be missing a few things. A better
storyline would have helped it, but even then it wouldn't have completely
fixed the problems.
