Graphics: The graphics in this game are all really bad. There's hardly any
detail in anything, characters look boring and even a little overdone (is
that Bomberman?) and the color scheme is horrible. Also, the graphics
kind of messed up after I paused the game and switched to a different
level every once in a while.
Sound: The music and sound effects in this game are all horrible. The
songs are long, repetitive, and the sound quality is very low. Sound effects
aren't any better since they are usually pretty shrill.
Gameplay: One of the older games that was released for the Mac long ago.
Anyway, in Loderunner, you are supposed to run around a level collecting
all of the gold dust while dodging enemies, pits, and anything else that can
kill you. I'm not positive about this, but in the computer versions, I don't
think you can dig pits. Anyway, you can also dig pits (to the left with the
A button and to the right with the B button) which enemies fall into so you
can just walk onto their heads to get by. Besides the weak gameplay, the
controls are also pretty bad. Another flaw in this game is that if you put
down a hole just before an enemy walks over it, it won't affect him.
Hardness factor: This game was pretty hard. It had a lot of flaws and bugs
that should have been fixed to make the game easier.
Overall: 2.5 out of 10. While I'm not sure just how good a port this game
is, I'm guessing not so good since I doubt people would play this game on
the Mac if it was this bad. I don't recommend this even to those of you
who grew up playing this game.
