Graphics: The graphics in this game, compared to the average NES game,
are very good. There is a very rich color scheme in the game, there's
usually quite a large amount of detail in characters, and the game is
definitely supposed to be a stereotypical Chinese game.
Sound: The music in this game is pretty cool. It's supposed to be Chinese
music, but just ends up sounding like the game Goemon. However, that's
not a bad thing. This game's music is pretty cool and at least original.
It would have been better if the quality was a little better.
Gameplay: One of the most original RPGs ever made. It's a cross between
a Beat 'em up (Final Fight) and an RPG (Final Fantasy). This game was so
good they ended up porting it to the SNES, Game Boy, Gamegear, Genesis,
and probably a few others. However, they all were pretty bad besides
this version. Anyway, you play as Jack or Ryu (Or you can have a partner
play with you) and you are supposed to do different quests in order to
get further in the game. Usually you just have to beat a boss or collect
an item. Anyway, what really makes this game cool is that when you
get into a battle, you fight them in a beat 'em up style. While you can
only jumpkick and hit (I think maybe you get better powers later in the
game) it's still pretty cool. You just beat up a few characters and get
money, items and experience. While they should have worked on the
controls a bit, it's still a pretty good game.
Hardness factor: This game really isn't as hard as it seems at first.
Once you get past the control issue, it definitely gets a lot easier.
Overall: 6 out of 10. This game was pretty good. I'd at least recommend
that you play the SNES version if you're worried about the graphics,
but this game just fits better on the NES.
