Kung Fu

Ready for some fast-paced, realistic, high quality beat-em-up action on your NES?
Well then don't buy this game. Why not? Well, read on.....
Graphics 6 out of 10
I'll cut the graphics some slack because this game was made back in '85. However,
it still could have been much, much better. Characters have little detail but
have decent animation, and the backgrounds are some of the most repetitive
and dull I have ever seen. Truly not the game's high point.
Music and Sound 5 out of 10
The music is kind of like a drum beat repeating over and over. Not very good.
Although the sound effects fit, they are cheap too.
Game Play-Fun 5 out of 10
I actually liked this for a while. Make that about 30 seconds when I beat level one.
All you do is walk along a 2-D floor and kick and punch enemies that run at you. ALL
they do is run at you they don't attack. If they touch you, you lose life, but you can
kick them while they run at you so they won't hit you. The 'bosses' just stand there
and swing their weapon, and most of the game just requires no strategy. There is
some variety added as you progress, but certainly not enough. This isn't a completely
dumb game, but it has very big flaws. It's hard, too.
Overall 5 out of 10
If you don't like beat-em-ups, don't buy it. If you like beat-em-ups, still don't buy it.
Get my point? It's not worth it when there are other games like Mighty Final Fight or
Double Dragon 2 and 3. If these NES games suddenly disappeared from the world, then
maybe Kung Fu would be a good fighting game.
