Flying Warriors
Reviewed by (EniGmA)
Flying Warriors is the sequel to Flying Dragon and the prequel to Ultimate Fighter
and Fighting Simulator. Haven't heard of ANY of these games, you say? I don't blame
you, they're extremely rare. However, if you come across Flying Warriors, you have
just gazed upon a rare gem, that is a very worthy addition to your collection!
Graphics 8 out of 10
The overall appearance is well done, but a few animations tend to be choppy. The
animated cinema intermissions add a nice touch and add to the atmosphere. In the
end, it looks very nice, just not up to NES's full potential....
Music and Sound 8 out of 10
This would have gotten at LEAST a 9 out of 10 because of the very catchy music,
but the sound effects, well, stink! The sound effect for a kick sounds like an RC
car that's squealing and stuck in a ditch or something, but the music is awesome!
The songs are VERY memorable and for some reason, kinda catchy.
Game Challenge 10 out of 10
Oh, you'll be challenged all right. This game combines Action, a lot of exploration
and hidden items, interactive intermissions, fighting sequences, and even an RPG
menu-based battle at the very end! It's like every game genre rolled into one!
Game Play-Fun 10 out of 10
The battles require patience and timing instead of button-mashing, and you can't
run thru the level and kill everybody in your path. Now, I consider this a GOOD thing,
because you need skill, instead of a quick finger (although that would come in handy
too). There are multiple characters to play, and as I said in the section above, there
are many other elements put into the game as well. There's even a tournament match
for eight players!
Replayability 8 out of 10
Well, you need to beat the game on hard to get the real ending, so yes you'll replay
it....also, just for the heck of it I would play it over even if I already beat it on hard!
It's that good!
Overall 9.7 out of 10
Flying Warriors was made in a time when companies were trying to make different
types of games to see which ones would be successful in the market. Well, this
game combined all types of games, and comes once in a blue moon....you never get to
REALLY appreciate it until you're about halfway thru, but it's nonetheless one of my
all-time favorites!
