Sound: 1.5 out of 10
Gameplay: 6.5 out of 10
Hardness factor: 8 out of 10
Overall: 6.5 out of 10
Graphics: The graphics in this game are really bad. There are a lot of
enemies on the field, but they are just so simple it's amazing they didn't
upgrade them. There are also a few different vehicles in this game that
look a little better, but not by too much.
Sound: The worst thing in this game would definitely have to be its music.
The quality of the music is incredibly low and it just sounds scratchy. Also,
the music is slightly patriotic and the tune is pretty bad, even compared to
the NES' standards. Sound effects are pretty much nonexistent in this game.
Gameplay: Despite having really bad graphics and music, this game is
definitely a classic. This game was released in the arcades and was an
instant hit, then it was a hit again when it got ported over to the Nintendo.
And for a good reason too. This game is in an overhead view and is very fun
and challenging. You play as Snake (I believe that's his name) and run around
trying to get to the boss at the end of the level while rescuing hostages and
killing enemies before they kill you. The bosses at the end of the levels are
sometimes very hard but are all alike.
Hardness factor: This game is one of the hardest for the NES, but if I could
beat it when I was 8, maybe you stand a chance (hehe). Seriously, you'll need
a lot of practice and it does get discouraging.
Overall: 6.5 out of 10. A classic game that has never been improved upon
(not that a lot of companies have tried) it may be simple and hard but it
still is pretty fun and there's a big thrill if you complete this game.
