Graphics: I had mixed thoughts about the graphics in this game. On one hand,
there are some really cool enemies in this game, though perhaps they are a
bit overused. On the other hand, the color scheme was horrible. Many enemies
were only one or two colors and usually they were blue or orange. However,
what made me give it a lower than average score was the fact that the
quality of it was somewhat low.
Sound: The music was okay in this game, though the sound quality was
incredibly low. Some of the songs were at least interesting, but I felt
that all of them really fit the mood the game was trying to get across.
One thing they definitely should have added, however, were some more
sound effects when you hit some enemies.
Gameplay: With a name like Castle of Dragon, it's got to be good. Seriously
though, this game is just another run of the mill sidescroller, except that
you fight with a sword and can do down and up hits. However, this really
doesn't add much to the game since the best fighting style you can do is
run up to them, take a swipe, and then run for your life. There are a few
powerups you can get for your blade, but overall I didn't think any of them
were interesting enough to be up to the standards of even a normal game.
Hardness factor: This game was somewhat hard until I figured out running
was the best combat maneuver. It just seems like your hits hardly ever
contact with the bodies of your enemies.
Overall: 4 out of 10. Castle of Dragon was a slightly below average game.
If you liked this game then I'm guessing you're a huge fan of The Legend
of Zelda 2: Links Adventure.
