Adventures of Dino Ricki
Reviewed by I-Am-Lander
This is basically is like the Flintstones but with one family member
and a big mallet. Although not anymore this game way pretty fun
at first. It tends to be more of an irritating game and will soon find
itself extinct.
Graphics 6 out of 10
The graphics in this game aren't so good. They have a bland
colors and aren't detailed so well. The dinosaurs aren't to clear
and are basically color palette switch but not all. The bosses are
huge and full of color with lots of detail unlike the enemies. Even
the the main character himself, who isn't a dinosaur by the way
is not detail very well. Sometimes it is hard to tell whats's what
because of the graphics and also the constant forward movement
of the screen. The areas however are different and they provide a
better color of the area but too much better. The only reason for
the about five score was the fact that the enemies still looked
normal even when the pace of the game was accelerated. Sadly
enough to say this is the high point of the game.
Music and Sound 5 out of 10
It doesn't rate too well in this department either. The sound get
very repetitive very quickly and will even get annoying. The music
even distracts you from the game sometimes instead of blending
in. Much of the sounds have been done from other games and even
with that in mind still manages to be worse. No catchy tune like the
ones from Bomberman are hear and it doesn't even seem like it took
long to make the game music. Nothing much to say here except it isn't good.
Game Play-Fun 4 out of 10
This is very poorly done. To the extent that it is unbearable. The
controls are very frustrating to use and have almost no accuracy.
There really isn't anything to do but jump of attack and that is
the end of it all. To make it worse its only a top view scroller
which makes it very hard to avoid enemies. The game play
basically is down hill all the way through this game.
Replayability 5 out of 10
This game is based on the same levels over and over until you
beat the game. It get boring when you first start it and gets
worse. The bad part about this is that you have to endure it
for who knows how many level. Also the game isn't forgiving
either. The difficulty is immensely high and stages get quicker
and quicker. This department doesn't rate any better.
Overall 6 out of 10
I gave this game a 6 because it was fun when I was younger. It was
very frustrating then and it still is. The graphics is the highest point
to this game and they aren't even good either. You might even use
this game as a frisbee rather than use it. The bosses in the game
didn't make it any different from the enemies either where
Pteradactols would fly at you or otherwise. Even I didn't get very
far in the game. Truly a bad game on behalf of Hudson Soft.
