Adventures of Bayou Billy

WHAT THE HECK IS THIS? This was probably the cruddiest game
Konami had designed in years. It was dispictable and was a total
waste of money, which I will talk about down below.
Graphics 8 out of 10
This was where the game had flourished. The graphics were done
with a lot of colorful art and the backgrounds were simply gorgeous.
The characters were done with good animation and moved very
smoothly. The problem I had with this game was that animation of
the kicks in this game, they were horrible and very ugly. But all in
all it was pretty good.
Music and Sound 3 out of 10
Yuk! I hated the music in this game, when you first start out the
game you might as well turn it off, why? Well the music didn't
sound right because it sounded like it was broadcasted from an old
radio. then you have the lack of much sound in this game, the
explosions were pure static, the punches and kicks sounded like
worn down bass drums and it was pretty pathetic of Konami to
even have the announcer say "The Adventures of Bayou Billy"
at the intro screen. That really took the cake because it was
very unclear and it sounded like he was speaking with his hands
covering his mouth. Really unclear.
Game Play-Fun 2 out of 10
What the heck was this? This game has got to be one of the
cruddiest games of all time and should definitely go under
recognition in the Hall of Crud. This game had four different
modes in which it lets you play the entire game with poor storyline,
the basic storyline was to save your girlfriend from this fat guy
and so on while battling enemies along the way. The other modes
included a racing simulation in which you had to avoid bombs and
rocks while reaching the end of your destination. Then you have
this street fighting practice mode where you fight for an item
to help you along the way. Then you have this stage where you
shoot down enemies exactly like you would from Operation Wolf,
which was compatible with a Zapper. If you completed any of
these missions you would get either an extra set of bullets, a
meatball, or an extra life. Then you have the game play, it was
basically nonexistent in this game. The punch and kicks are too
much the same and that's all that you can do. You can pick up a
staff or a knife along the way. Did I mention the controls? The
character moved very slow and was unresponsive also the fights
in this game were WAY too hard and you can end up wasting all of
your continues on the first stage. Not to mention those dumb
crocodiles, they were very hard to beat and you could not advance
through the stage without defeating every on screen enemy. Then
you have the bosses in this game, boy are they tough! I'm not even
sure if you are suppose to beat them or not, other stages in the
game includes a 1st person shooter and a race simulation which
was very long, very difficult, and very boring. First off the
enemies in this game were way faster than you were sometimes
and they took a lot of hits just to take them down. The other
games weren't much fun either because they were too long and
just lacked control. Shame on you Konami.
Replayability 2 out of 10
Another area in the game where it lacked replay value. First off
this game was pretty pathetic having bad control and didn't seem
like much playing the game over again. Not only that this game
was WAY too hard to ever play again and even with the extra
modes in the game it was basically just practice simulations of
the actual game itself. Nothing much here and nothing to be
worried about.
Overall 2 out of 10
This game was basically worthless. The game was WAY too difficult
and couldn't be beaten, and mix that in with bad controls and static
music then you've got the Adventures of the Wizard's Terry Davis,
utterly lame and boring. Don't pick this up unless you have a mean
temper and you need a nice good game to release your temper on.
