The Adventures of Mighty Max
Reviewed by Yoshi Guy
This game has great variations of gameplay. Allow me to explain. Their
are 3 modes easy, medium and hard. Hard, being the true ending for the
game. But the amazing thing about it besides the whacky puzzles and
cooky characters is the two-player simultaneous action. Their is vs.
mode, if you decide to play against an opponent or the computer, and
team mode which allows both players to help eachother. Let me explain
the basic motivation for this game. Their are different space-junk fragments
scattered against 8 horridly fast paced worlds of time ("time"is a word
you notice we are using because this game focuses upon portals or
inter-dimensional gateways) on a mission to stop Skullmaster from
gathering the fragments before you do, to make his super weapon with enough
firepower to destroy the world..unless you stop him.
Graphics 6 out of 10
These were classy, but rather annoying bits in the modulator, and I rather
they weren't even there as this game's highlight is it's gameplay. Still,
cheesy and dwindling as they may be it did add sort of a fun exerpt to
the otherwise hard and annoying levels.
Music and Sound 8 out of 10
It was OK but rough around the edges. I mean you could actually here
a scream after every enemy died! How annoying can that be? The music
definitely could of used s little more variety as it tended to repeat the
them from the previous level.
Game Challenge 5 out of 10
Well let's see..8 worlds and three stages each. That makes 24 total.
Really for novices this game would be a snap. The three modes(easy,
medium and hard)can also be passed in a matter of time, unless you
are a beginner of course. But really let's get to the bottom line and
what makes this game great..
Game Play-Fun 10 out of 10
THIS! Oh sorry to drop in on you like that but truly the gameplay is
what this game has to offer. The two player simultaneous mode is
awesome! And just playing against another opponent in VS. mode can
take a real long time although the computer is funnier to beat because
it always makes mistakes with it's timing. Two player help mode is
also a thrill when you can help each other out and have one guy shoot
the badge (the only other game known to have this incorporated is Goof
Troop) and the other put the boulder on the springboard It saves a lot
more time! All in all, with the three characters your able to choose
and the high-scores your able to achieve makes this game a worthwhile
experience as far as gameplay goes!
Replayability 6 out of 10
Game Value 67 out of 100
Overall 69 out of 100
The game arrives at an average scale. Which isn't bad! I hope they make
another one of these or at least a similar game in the future!
