Graphics: The graphics are great for the Gameboy Advance. Characters
have an anime aspect to them and are very colorful and lively. There is
quite a bit of detail in this game to tanks, ships, planes, ect and it looks
really good though I think they could have done a bit more. They even got
the shots down pretty good.
Sound: Sound is another thing about this game I like. It's all original and
sounds really cool and exciting. I'm glad someone is finally putting
original and upbeat sounding music in their games. Sound Effects could
have been tweaked a bit, but they pretty much got it down.
Gameplay: A basic strategy game. The gameplay is extremely simple to
get the hang of and if you forget what a tank or anything else does, you
can always use the ever simple R button to see status and a little bio
about things. While I never liked the other Wars games, they seem to have
gotten this one down pretty good. Except one thing.
Hardness factor: This game, on campaign, gets extremely hard. Probably
one of the hardest games (if not hardest strategy game) I've ever played.
If you don't do things right in the beginning you'll end up playing for hours
before you're done with one level, one way or another. The game goes from
showing you the basics to having barrages of enemies attack you. You're
against odds at the very beginning and there isn't much you can do since
the game is pretty simple. Also, the generals on the other side have way
better attack powers than you do. Campaign mode just sucks all the fun
out of it. I usually like strategy games or at least don't hate them, but
when it gets this frustrating you just shouldn't play it.
Overall: 5 out of 10. A very simple strategy game, though the design of
the game is cool. Not for people who don't like to play a game for hours
on end, because this game is just addictive. Great music, graphics, and
gameplay make this game good, but they should have made it easier. I
probably wouldn't recommend this game to anyone except a strategy
game fanatic.
