The Legend of Zelda: Orcale of Seasons
Reviewed by Andrew
The Legend himself is back in yet another adventure. Link is back and this
time he is out to save another town. After one of the Orcales, Din, all
the seasons go wacko. Its up to Link to find 8 essences and bring them
back to save Din, and the city. This game is very very good. If you are
Zelda fan you should get this game. With lots of changes from the old
Game Boy game: Link's Awakening. There are two games where now you
can Link to find secrets. This game is worth getting.
Graphics: 10 out of 10
The graphics are unbelievable. Much more improved since Link's Awakening
DX. The game which is only available for GBC makes the game run smoother.
And the colors are great. The programmers were not messing around when
making this great game. It is very detailed that you can clearly see
everything such as Link swinging is sword or the beams hitting Link.
Music and Sound: 10 out of 10
Music and Sound....hmm....You can hear everything from hitting a pot- to
the crashing sound of Onox shooting flames at Link. Every where you enter
dungeons, towns, caves there is always different music going on. Each
little scenario has a perfect matching music to it. The temple has that
slow, but up-beating music, as to the boss rooms have that low thriller
type music.
Game Challenge: 9 out of 10
In the beginning for the first couple of minutes its easy. After the
first cave boss, it gets tough. All the enemies and bosses are very
tough. Some of the oldies are back from the very first NES game. But
now they are much improved. The game is also tough not due to the
enemies but the boss rooms. Trying to jump on moving platforms,
which are going fast, while being chased by fire bats. Or trying to run
out of a room where there are spiked floors, bats all over, and the room
is collapsing on you. This game does not wait for you to get ready to
select things, it just throws it at you. You see a huge rupee waiting to
be grabbed then what happens, bam! The whole room shakes and your
trying to escape without warning. Also in every room you go there are
over 5-6 enemies in one room. And they do not kid around.
Game Play-Fun: 8 out of 10
While all the adventure is hard and fun there are a couple of mini games,
but not as much as you would expect. I can only think of a dancing game,
but there are two more out there... Now there are lots of sub-quest you
can do, but i do not count those as mini-games. Though some are fun to do.
Frustration
The game is mighty frustrating. You can be near the end of a level and
then a hand drops down and grabs you, throwing you to the beginning of
the level. Gets you very mad! Then there are these little critters that
steal your shields. You think oh ok i can take these guys on. Then they
suck you in.....then you get a message saying your shield was stolen.
And there is no way to get it back from it. They can be very annoying.
Replayability: 9 out of 10
Yes you would love to play this game over and over again. Come on its a
ZELDA GAME! Why wouldn't you. With the linking system of two games
there is always something new to play. You beat the game once, now you
got to play the new quest, if you played Orcale of Ages.
Game Value: 9 out of 10
If your a Zelda fan its definitely a wanted game. No doubt about it. This
will be a classic game years from now. It already is. For $35 its worth it.
GO OUT AND GET THIS GAME NOW! GET BOTH OF THEM.
Overall: 10 out of 10
The game is great with the improved graphics, dungeons, bosses,
everything. The linking system between to Zelda games makes this
one even better. I say all Zelda fans should get this game. If you have
never played Zelda before, but wanna try it, get this game. You'll see
why people go crazy over it.
