The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening
Reviewed by Brian Pugach
Link's Awakening is one of the wonderful RPG games that continue
off of The Legend of Zelda. The only Zelda game on game boy, Link's
Awakening is fun, hard, and confusing. This story occurs after A Link
To the Past, in which Link destroys Ganon and recovers the triforce.
In this game, Link gets shipwrecked and finds himself on an island
called Koholint, where he meets a girl named Marin, a wise man named
Old Man Ulrira, and a mysterious owl. The owl tells Link about the
Siren's musical instruments, which he must play to wake the Wind
Fish. Who is the Wind Fish? Link wondered. Where do I find the Siren's
musical instruments? And that is where Link's adventure begins.
Graphics 9 out of 10
The graphics to this game are not great, but they are cute and cartoony.
They fit in wit the game perfectly, and make Koholint Island a rather
nice atmosphere.
Music and Sound 10 out of 10
Excellent music. Three beautiful melodies can be played on the ocarina:
Ballad of the Wind Fish, Manbo's Mambo, and The Frog's Song. Also in the
game is the original Zelda theme, and some other tunes. The music is
fantastic.
Game Challenge 10 out of 10
This game, believe it or not, took me two and a half years to figure out.
Most of the time, I had given up on the game and had decided that it was
just too hard. But never give up on this game. I REPEAT: DON'T GIVE UP!!!!
Although it is frustrating and challenging, this is a great game. This
game is both hard and puzzling, but it is a great game.
Game Play-Fun 10 out of 10
This is easily going to be the most fun game in my life. It was so much
fun to solve the mysteries of the dungeon and fight the bosses. I highly
recommend this game.
Frustration 10 out of 10
This is a very frustrating game. I got so frustrated that I could not
figure the game out I almost wanted to shout- but luckily my friends
helped me.
Replayability 6 out of 10
Once you've beat an RPG game it's hard to continue enjoying it over
and over again. It can be fun playing it over sometimes, but after a
while, it gets boring.
Game Value 10 out of 10
And ten times more! I actually didn't buy the game, I got it for
Christmas, but I would have saved and bought it with my own money
if I hadn't got it.
Wanting to continue 10 out of 10
All I wanted after I was done playing this was to play another version
just as fun. That's why I got A Link To The Past and am now looking
for the original Zelda.
Overall 10 out of 10
The best game I have ever played: The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening
is fun for all kids, especially for RPG lovers!
