Pokemon Yellow
Reviewed by Jacob Brown
Pokemon fans are still slowly growing. The release of Red and Blue
satisfied gamers for a year until Pokemon Yellow came.....
Graphics: 7.0 out of 10
Graphics aren't a big deal. Everything is simple and thats good. No
one wants an RPG that pays more attention on graphics than on the
game itself. Since Game Freak started work on Yellow before the
Game Boy Color was released, there isn't much color.
Music and Sound: 8.0 out of 10
Music and sound is simple. Some tunes are very catchy and the sound
makes every Pokemon different. It's fun distinguishing each Pokemon
simply from the sound it makes.
Game Challenge: 10 out of 10
This game is like one of those "easy to pick up, difficult to master"
kind of games. By training your Pokemon, you win battles more easily
and advance farther into the game. Collecting 150 isn't difficult because
they are hard to find, but because trading is essential. Your friend may
be reluctant to give away a Pokemon and it's up to you to make the best deal.
Game Play-Fun: 10 out of 10
Simply put, it's fun to train Pokemon. Each has their own unique
personality and power. Battling and training are what made this
game popular in the first place. Even people in the game have a
sense of humor.
Frustration
It may be frustrating if you are concentrating on completing a collection.
Some Pokemon can be fought only once and that bully won't trade his
Victreebell for just anything.
Replayability: 10 out of 10
The most incredible replay value ever! Once the main quest is done, it's
up to you to catch 151 Pokemon. After that, train your team so you can
beat anyone. This game is the last game in your library to collect dust
(until Gold and Silver come out.)
Game Value: 10 out of 10
It's worth 20 bucks. Its fun and friendly. I've seen 5 year olds picking
up the basics of an RPG in no time simply because Pokemon is in it and
it's fun. Some gamers won't like the cute theme, but that's their problem.
Overall: 9.5 out of 10
If you haven't bought any of the originals, pick up this one! Pikachu
will be enjoyable, Team Rocket will serve up laughs and the graphics
will humble all those who hate seeing a green Mewtwo while battling.
It's easy to pick up but hard to master. A must have for anyone.
