Graphics: The graphics are okay. Some of the enemies are overdone (for
example, Frankenstein's monster and the Wolfman are in the Dracula
level) and the character is way too small, but it's okay. There's usually
a nice amount of detail in the enemies and the backgrounds, which is a
refreshing change.
Sound: The sound is a step up from the graphics. The music is interesting,
but the sound effects are a little weak. The sound quality is surprisingly
good for such an old game.
Gameplay: This is an interesting sidescroller made by Jaleco (they made
a ton of space shooters. It shows) where you play as a small guy whose
out to save his weird looking girlfriend. When I first started playing it,
It reminded me of playing Super Mario Bros. with a super jump code on
because the guy jumps so high and that's basically how the controls are.
Anyway, your character can throw stars at enemies and then you have to
beat a boss at the end of a level. Also, there's a few powerups in the level
that can give you a different attack. Also, a weird part about this game is
that on some levels you can go on top of the ceiling until you jump high and
land back down. It's actually a pretty fun game.
Hardness factor: I didn't have any problems in this game and I played it
quite a bit. Some bosses are annoying, but you'll usually have a ton of life
by the time they get hard.
Overall: 6.5 out of 10. This game was pretty cool and I enjoyed playing it.
However, I think you have to be a fan of space shooters and also
sidescrollers to appreciate this game.
