Final Fantasy Legend
Reviewed by Matt
This game is about a simple concept. There is a tower many say leads to paradise,
but all who enter it never return. Whether thy make it or not, nobody knows. Now,
a brave adventurer and his friends prepare to tempt fate as many before them
have done. The only thing is that square makes it so puzzling and fun, so that it
isn't simple after all.
Graphics 5 out of 5
This game is pretty much graphically perfect. With a stunning array of characters,
enemies, items, and bosses you never go through the exact same game twice. Its
great to pause the game and look closely at a lot of the enemies.
Music and Sound 5 out of 5
Once again, perfect. What a great array of music and sound! I love the last boss
theme, and the game gives you a lot of great music.
Also, If you press and hold B, Select, and Start on the screen you get a built in
Music and Sound Test!
Game Challenge 5 out of 5
The game delivers great challenge, and when you overcome an obstacle after hours
of trying, It feels great. The game is very hard, but becomes easier (but not easy!)
after playing it for a while.
Game Play-Fun 5 out of 5
This game is a lot of fun to play, if not a little difficult. You can enter battles and
have fun beating the enemies *** into the ground! The game is also fun in the many
different things you can do.
Frustration
Some of the puzzles and mazes and clues can make you want to scream, kill your
guy on purpose (like I've done many times), or smash the game. For these problems
I suggest setting the Game Boy down, taking 10 steps away from it, sit down, and
take a minute to clear your head and calm down. (if this doesn't work, then kill
your guy in meanness and with a lot of hatred. hee-hee) You will be amazed that
sometimes the solution just pops out of the air.
Replayability 5 out of 5
You can play this game again and again and again and again and it never gets
boring (well, maybe a little bit). The reason for this is, like most RPGs, you
can play it again and again and never play through it the exact same way twice.
You can employ new strategies and battle techniques to make play different. So
you can play again and again and again and again.
Game Value 5 out of 5
The $30 for a brand new is defiantly worth it. With being perfect in every category
who can resist? (I certainly couldn't!)
Overall 100 out of 100
This Game is probably the 3rd best game on the Game Boy of all time. It is perfect
in every category, and except for a few minor game flaws (which were corrected in
Final Fantasy Legend 2), this game meets all the needs of an avid Game Boy player,
and goes beyond.
And this only marks the first in the best series of the Game Boy. Nintendo rereleased
it a month or two ago, along with the sequels, so what are you waiting for? Go buy it!
