Dragon Warrior Monsters
Reviewed by The PKMN Master
For a long time there have been many RPGs. Some are great...like
Pokemon. And some are bad. Wait, did I say that!? I DID NOT mean it!
Almost ALL RPGs are 998% to 1000% good or better! Some are
PokeRip-offs, some are close to Pokemon but not Rip-Offs. This
is where Dragon Warrior Monsters (DMW) comes into play.
Graphics 9.8 out of 10
This game is an RPG on Game Boy/Game Boy Color so the graphics
could be a little betterwhen walking around. But in battle the
graphics are glorious! You can see actual differences between
monsters! (Except with certain ones with the same pictures but
different colors) Still when you run into wild monsters that you
know about you can say "All right! It's a (Insert Name of Monster
Here)!" or "Awwwwwwwww! It's another stupid (Insert Name of
Monster Here)!"
Music and Sound 9.9 out of 10
Music and sound in this game is very, very clear in this game but
is some times very bad. Still most of the time you'll be humming
ever so slightly with the game. Not only that, the sound effects
for special attacks are clear and great! Like when you use VacuSlash
you hear a sound like breezy wind or with FireAll you hear a sound like
fire blowing around! (Can't really describe it!)
Game Challenge 10 out of 10
The game's challenge is hard but fun. You really need to think about
who you should have on your team. Plus you have to fight other
trainers, not just wild monsters of course! Also, there's almost
always something new to accomplish in the game when you turn it on!
Game Play-Fun 9.9 out of 10
This game is fun and all,but could have been funnier.Really the whole
game is catch, train, fight. Now you might be saying that isn't that
what Pokemon is all about!? NO! Pokemon is different for 1 reason: In
some way you can relate to Pokemon completely, but here you can't
really figure it all out to the end! (More on this in the Plot section)
Frustration
The only major problem is that you can carry only 3 monsters at a
time! Still, usually you're stuck in some dungeon training monster
trying to get out. Also, some dungeons take 20 or more "floors"
to get to the boss! Either way, if you think and breed enough monsters
you will get to easy street sometime or another!
Replayability 9.8 out of 10
The replay on this game isn't so good. Only if you want to
battle/breed with you friends is it worth it. The only problem
could be your friend's monsters are weak or your own monsters
are weak. Either way, once you've done it all, you've done it all!
Game Value 10 out of 10
Yes,yes, and yes! At $30 it's not THAT bad! However, if you are a
beginner at RPGs rent this one first, then if you like it buy. This
game may not suit your fancy. Of course if you love Pokemon
you'll immedietly fall in love with this RPG too!
Color 9.9 out of 10
Since this game is for Game Boy Color I might as well review the color!
The colors good, but sometimes is way bad because you usually have
the same colors in the dungeons...Still, the monsters look what
they should look like and that's good. The human sprites are a bit
messy though, they look just like what most RPG human sprites
look like anyway...
Plot 9.5 out of 10
The plot gets a very low score for an RPG because the plot is really
messed up. The plot is that your sister gets kid-napped and you must
follow her into another dimension. When you get there you learn in
order to get your sister back you must win a special tournament. Of
course with monsters!
Overall 9.9 out of 10
This game is really well worth it.Mainly because it's an RPG. Still if
you plan to buy this, buy the strategy guide: You'll need it!If
you truly LLLLLLOOOOOVVVVVEEEEE Pokemon, you'll like this game!
