Getting Gold Medal in "Escape of Fest" mission
Sent in by Miguelc90
As you start, go towards your right and destroy turret gun guarding
the shield generator as fast as you can. At the same time, shoot the
bunkers and the bunker of the approaching AT-AT. As you go towards
the At-At, kill it and destroy the 3 turrets that shoot towards the
small, main canyon. Then destroy the the lone turret gun by the
research facility, but don't even try to kill the AT-AT shooting at
the AT-PT's or even look at it, because it won't kill them if you don't
look at them, but instead kill the AT-At you first saw at the beginning
of the stage. Do all of this under 2 minutes.Hopefully, the wall such
broke down and the AT-PTs are all right. Not looking towards them,
go to the area of the shield generator and kill most of the tanks, or
your AT-PTs WILL die even if you don't look at them. Then go quickly
to the research facility and (hopefully, you didn't destroy the generator)
kill the 1st 3 tanks. And kill the rest of the tanks in LITTLE TIME AS
POSSIBLE and don't commit suicide either. Kill all 8 ties and leave the
At-Pts by themselves. This period of time between killing all the ties
and the at-pts reaching the landing zone is the most crucial. During
this time destroy the generator and scrape a few stormtroopers and
tanks. then kill some more stormtroopers and that bunker and NOT
killing the last at-at. Then kill the 2 turrets and get the bonus at that
hill. Then destroy the 2 missile turrets, the 2 bunkers and a few
stormtroopers. Then Destroy the facility. If you don't get the medal
immediately, practice a few times and keep a good aim.
Beggar's Canyon tip
Sent in by Code Hunter
Begin the race as you normally would, and when it comes time to choose
a path (or difficulty level), take the center path (the intermediate
difficulty level). As you travel this path, keep your eye on the right
wall and the radar screen. Eventually on your radar screen you will see a
faint line (signifying a path) heading to the east. Put on your brakes and
watch the upper part of the right wall. You will see a path. Take it,
staying as low as you can because if you go over the top of the wall
you will be cheating. As you emerge from the path you will see a large
rock with a hole in the center. If on your way to the finish line you fly
through the hole, you will have beaten all competitors, attaining the Gold
Medal. If you do not fly through the hole in the rock, you will only
succeed in getting the Bronze Medal.
Fly through the walls
Sent in by Code Hunter
When you fly levels such as Assault on Kile II where you cannot fly over the
walls you can fly through the them instead. This will help you save time and
maybe get a gold medal. This trick will work with any craft even the tie
interceptor. All you have to do is fly as high as the craft will let you and
aim yourself towards a wall. Keep pulling up until you hit the wall and you
should take some damage and pop through the wall. You should try to hit the
wall straight on and you will take no additional damage once you are in the
wall. This is great for saving time on Kile II. If you enter the wall with
ships such as the Speeder or V-wing you can do flips inside the wall.
Access a Naboo Starfighter
Sent in by Longbow
To access a Naboo Starfighter, type up
HALIFAX? as the first code, then...
!YNGWIE! as the second one
It will act like it's denying the code, but come up on the fighter select
screen of any mission, and it's right there!!!
How do you keep the AT-PTs alive in the Escape from Fest mission?
Sent in by BenCS1@aol.com
In this level you are really pressured for time. If you mess up it
usually means you'll fail your mission. Here's the most efficient way
to do it. Rocket forward and destroy the first AT-AT Walker with your
Tow Cable, then get away. See those Laser Turrets on the ridge? Destroy
them all, then turn left to find a trio of AT-PTs, these are on your side!
But they won't be for long; there's another AT-AT Walker behind them.
Quickly destroy it before it has a chance to shoot at any of the AT-PTs.
Your wingmen are working on the wall, but it would be a good idea to
shoot at it a bit while you pass it. After passing it you'll notice another
AT-AT Walker. Go past this and defeat the two Turbo Lasers behind it,
now go kill the AT-AT Walker. By now the wall has been destroyed by
your wingmen and they're in the path. You don't have time to breathe
yet! Dozens of Tank Droids will be let out. Although they pose little
threat to the AT-PTs (it's the other way around!) it's usually a good
idea to destroy them...just in case. Now a squadron of Tie Bombers
will be deployed from the base. You know, the one with the shield around
it. Quickly destroy these! Just one Bomber could destroy the entire fleet
of AT-PTs. After that Bombers will come from all over the place. When
the AT-PTs board the shuttle you can sigh in relief...but there's still
more to do. Go destroy the Shield Generator (it's near the last AT-AT
you killed) and then go to the building and blow it up!
Fly around trick
Sent in by Longbow
Ever wanted to just fly around without having to worry about completing
mission objectives? Well, now you can on the tatooine level. Just destroy
all of the probe droids that are shooting the little homesteads, but don't
shoot the ones that are just hovering around. Your fellow rogue's wont be
able to destroy some certain droids, leaving you to just roam around the
planet. And best of all, you wont have to leave the level automatically via
"mission failed".

Ever notice how the radar in Rogue Squadron doesn't work like a "real" radar?
If you go to the Passwords menu and enter the word "RADAR", it switches to
a different mode, where the object with higher altitudes are displayed brighter
than low-flying ships.
Enter the word CREDITS at the Password Menu and you will be able to watch the
Star Wars style Factor 5/LucasArts credits, accompanied by a Rogue music medley.
Prisons of kessel tip
Sent in by Derek
If you are having trouble getting past the prisons of kessel try this
plan of attack... speed ahead of the shuttle and go to the first prison it
lands at. take out all the gun turrets and the 2 bunkers. then fly to the
next prison and do the same thing. about this time it should go to the
cut seen about taking out the shield generator. don't be in such a hurry
to do that. fly to the last 2 prisons and take out the turrets and the
bunkers first. then fly back and take care of the shield generator.
Now all you have to do is fend of some ties and a few at-st's (take 'em
out before if you get the opportunity). congratulations... you've
accomplished your mission objectives!
Advanced seeker cluster missiles
Sent in by Derek
On escape from fest there is a bunker and 2 turrets on the ridge above
the factory. You can't see it until you fly over the factory. Destroy the
bunker and get some advanced seeker cluster missiles. These come in
real handy in the battle of mon calamari against the world devastators.
Missile lock tip
Sent in by Derek Wessner
Instead of waiting for a missile lock you can press fire 2 times. ex. Say
you get lost on Search for the Nonah (or what ever it's called) and it
says "The Nonah is reporting their under attack!" and then you get there,
you need a missile right away, cant wait for the lock on? Get your aimer
on the enemy you want to shoot at and then press it 2 times for 1, 4 for
2 etc. As long as it's seeking missles or advanced bombs it will work.
Freeze the game
Sent in by Derek Wessner
Here's how to freeze the game. After you have accessed the hidden
Beggars Canyon race, enter a race against Wedge on the right course.
At the end of the course you'll see a rock formation with a loop in the
middle that you are supposed to go through, don't go through the loop
and then the game will freeze.
Glitches
Sent in by Derek Wessner
These glitches are used with the password "farmboy" (the one to be
the Millenium Falcon):
The insides of the Millenium Falcon: On any level that have you being
able to be the ship, press Left on the D-pad. As soon as you do press
Start. When you do so you should see the insides of the ship.
For this next one you need the password "tiedup" on also to get the Tie
Interseptor: On the Jade Moon, at the power generator shoot it a couple
times (about 3) and run into it. During the sequence you will hear a
scream, and when you see X-wings you will see Luke in an X-wing instead
of a Tie and the screen will black out as soon as the movie is over (as in
your dead). If the generator does not explode shoot it more the next time.
Power-up Locations
Sent in by Cyberwars
Defection at Correllia - The first one is on the "Defection at Correllia."
After you stop the bombing run at the Tech Center, you make your way
back to the Capital Tower. On your way there, you come across several
cities. The first city has something like a maze towards the back end.
In the back of that maze is a yellow box with a red line through it. That
is a power-up box. Swoop through the back of the maze to reach it.
They are Advanced Torpedoes.
Jade Moon - The 2nd power-up is easy to find on the Jade Moon. When
you fly through the trench on your way to the Shield Generator, take
the left fork first. Blow up the building at the end. It contains
Advanced Shield Technology.
Imperial Construction Facility - In the Construction Facility, there
are two landing platforms. The first has an AT-AT in front of it. The
second has a shuttle on it. Fly behind the landing platform with the
shuttle on it. There are two storage containers; one on the left and
one on the right. Blow up the one on the left to reveal advanced bombs.
Prisons of Kessel - On the second Kessel mission, you have to rescue
prisoners. The power-up is close to the second prison. Once the second
rescue has begun, fly close to the surrounding cliffs and watch your
radar. You should notice two stationary red dots in what appears to
be a small indention in the top of the cliff. The dot on the right is a
missile launcher while the left dot is a bunker containing Seeker Missiles.
Raid on Sullust - On Sullust, there is a landing platform in the center
of the area. On the opposite side of the platform from where you start
out, there is a large factory building. Destroy it to pickup Seeker Torpedoes.
Moff Seerdon's Revenge - On this mission you start out facing a missile
launcher. To the left of it is a city. After destroying the Imperials
there, Turn around and fly straight to the back of the city. You should
notice a large Rebel building and a few Imperial Bunkers. Destroy the
bunkers. In one of them lies a power-up. I believe them to be Seeker
Cluster Missiles.
Beggar's Canyon shortcut
Sent in by Code Hunter
At the Beggar's Canyon level, you have to race Wedge to get a gold medal.
Here's a shortcut that will help you out greatly: As soon as the race
with Wedge begins (when Wedge takes the right route), fly through the
course until you reach the fifth turn. Remember: the fifth turn of the
race with Wedge; not the fifth turn from the start of the level. After the
fifth turn, don't follow the course, just fly straight over the two hills
in front of you. Don't fly over the first hill too high or you'll have to
start again. Surprisingly, you'll be allowed to fly over these two hills
and continue the race way ahead of Wedge! If you fly over the first hill
and nothing happens, you'll know the trick worked. Wedge might sometimes
call you a cheater but you'll be allowed to keep racing.
